Remember JUST YESTERDAY when I said I was having problems with LJ and someday it was just gonna stop working? WELP I'm getting shit tons of ads and pop-ups and I have a permanent fucking paid account. If this is the new normal and not just some snafu, I'm jumping ship. Sorry y'all, this might be the last straw.

I have a vested interest in having you here so I did a bit of searching on the error:

One of the things I found out is that LJ has had previous instances (2006) of this caused by the *advertisers* inserting malware into the system with the apparent intention of hurting LJ and against LJ guidelines.

(If it is malware then that might explain my not having it. I'm on a mac or bb.)

My search indicates that this isn't a common problem (the above are some of the few complaints I could find) and isn't the new normal.

Check out the links, check for malware, and send a request if that doesn't work… that's my best guess at this point. If I see anything new or more useful I'll let you know.

Yep, my IT guy just spent half an hour fiddling around fixing things. Apparently between the time I shut down yesterday at 5pm and started up at 8am this morning, I picked up about 36 different malware programs.

I once had one that changed all of the desktop icons to little pictures of sex. The ex pointed it out to me--"What sites have you been visiting?!!" Maybe that one *wasn't* me.
