Of course they are! Fuuuuck.

Safe travels and have fun!!!

Thanks. It's a totally full flight. They just called asking for people to take travel vouchers. I guess this is why the only non-stop from KC to Vegas is at 5:30 in the fucking morning. They know people will show up for it.

Hope the flight went smoothly! Love!

Flight was great, but I've hit a snag with the plan to put my suitcase in a locker and hang out on the strip until [livejournal.com profile] splix's plane arrives in five hours. Apparently there aren't any lockers outside the security area (which makes sense, I guess?) and I'm not sure what to do. Someone suggested renting a car for the day and just using it to store my suitcase but that seems a little cumbersome. And annoying.

Well, THAT sucks. Yeah, renting a car to see the city might be fun! And then you'd have a lot more mobility. I'm happy to help pay for it!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-07-16 02:32 pm (UTC)(link)
It's a minimum of $50 (they claim lower, but once you add fees, etc., it's at least $50) and I'd be so nervous about not being able to find my way around driving (you know my directional abilities), and getting lost and missing [livejournal.com profile] splix and friend driving us to the hotel. Blah.

On the other hand, four hours here in baggage claim seems like a massive drag. Blah.

If I wasn't functioning on only five hours of spotty sleep and a lack of decent breakfast, I might be more up for adventure. As it is, I'm equally concerned with wearing myself out on the first day of the trip as I am spending the money.

Vegas Baby.

They said the flight was completely full before we boarded. When I got on the plane (second half of B group), there was still an aisle seat open in the second row with a guy who was pretty fat in the window seat. I asked if the aisle seat was taken and he said no. Then after everyone had boarded and nobody was in the empty seat between us, he leaned over and said real quiet "They gave me a reservation for an extra seat so we've got the the row to ourselves." We were the only people on the plane who weren't three to a row.

Well, shoot. Perhaps just find yourself somewhere to take a nap!

ROCK'N'ROLL

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-07-16 03:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I've already scouted out a couple places I can squirrel myself away once I'm done using the free airport WiFi.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-07-16 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Good lord, I actually fell asleep for about 45 minutes IN THE AIRPORT. Woke up, rolled to my other side, and slept for another half hour. I feel pretty great, now, and [livejournal.com profile] splix's plane lands in half an hour!

[identity profile] stuology.livejournal.com 2015-07-16 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
That's crazy. I flew out once on a flight that left at 6:30am, and I was shocked at how long the lines were at the airport. I didn't get there early enough and had to apologize and cut in line. It wasn't even a holiday or anything.

Did you wake up in your full, typical, human form?

So glad I drove from [livejournal.com profile] miichelle's house in KC instead of getting there a little late like I usually do coming from Lawrence.

Tragically, yes, I did wake in my full, typical, human form. DAMN IT.

Aw..

HOORAY for the Big Man!

And yay for your trip being off to a good start.

For real! He was very nice, too. Chatted with me until I could turn on my iPod and then left me the fuck alone until we were landing. I hope he has a good trip and wins a little money.

Socially skilled as well. Nice.
