The end of an era
It's a sad day in 3116 Wescoe. Today, Mr. Brown Suede Sweater is being retired. Although he says he's good for another winter, in my heart I know he's only putting on a brave face. I look at his torn pockets, peeling buttons, careworn lapels, and I know: It's time to say goodbye. Although I brought in his replacement today (a gray Orlon cardigan with saucy white stripes down the front), I know it will be a long time before I find a sweater that will equal Mr. Brown Suede.
You were worth far more than the $2.95 I paid for you at the DAV lo these many years ago. You served me, and undoubtedly a few others, well. Rest in peace, my friend.
