Mr. Brown Suede Sweater

The autopsy photos.

Had a faboo time with a friend yesterday afternoon sipping drinkies on the back patio of The Replay. I'm trying to convince her to get on LJ. Her husband already did (sorta), so I'm hoping it's only a matter of time before she joins us.

Poor Mr. Brown...

Looks like a long, useful life indeed.

You can really see the Y-incision.

You crack me up! Not to minimize your pain in anyway....my freshman year of college we did a whole Day of the Dead style funeral for a chair we all loved...then progressed to the local mexican resteraunt for large margaritas...

So...a toast to Mr. Brown Sweater!

Drunken Parties. The best way to mourn, hands down.

hey-I think he still has another few years left in him!!!

first I'd replace the buttons....Easy!

I'd take off the pockets-only at the torn side, then cover it with bias tape or ultra suede strips-cover that edge, restitch down. IF you could find matching yarn and make a braid to sew on that repaird edge-it would be so cute!!! but if not, you could leave it as is or add smaller matching buttons on THAT edge of the pockets, beads, or some other trim. For the worn spot-you could just color it in with a marker-same as they do at the shoe shop LOL. OR.....

Glam the entire thing up with rhinestones in brown or green..then I'd just cover that worn spot with a rhinestone!

just some thoughts!

Hmmmm. All that or just wear the gray one until something else comes down the pike. With all my other projects staring me in the face, I think I'll just retire him. =)

I've already spent 3 hours this evening working on bodice #2...half of that is rip-outs of course, since I'm still new to this bodice making business. Sigh!

yes, you could just retire..

Priorities, my dear!

I meant retire it-LOL....not YOU retire, although that would be nice too!!!!

whats up with the bodices??? I haven't made one in 15 years and am digging out a pattern to make-..whats being so problematic with them? (so I don't freak out when I one!)?

I am so sorry for your loss. Hopefully, knowing that you gave Mr. Brown Suede the best life a sweater could hope for will bring some comfort.

I feel your pain. I have a Mr. Green Suede that will probably have to be put down at the end of this winter. It's a sad thing indeed.

Mine's just fiddly stuff...like I made all six channels for the front boning. And then realized I hadn't left enough room for a seam allowance when I attached the lining. Christ! That was a lot of ripping. Got up early this morning with a clear head, though, and got all layers put together. Just gotta trim and turn when I get home. Wooo!

Sorry to hear about Mr. Green Suede. I wonder if the two were related...

oh boning...(eyes rolling!) I am scared of boning!

Can't wait to see your pics!!!!
