I think country music has nurtured storytellers really well and seems to reward vocalists perhaps better than pop music? Not sure but there's something about country music that seems to bring me back to the days of rolling your windows down and just driving with music. Some of the crossover/collaborations lately have been interesting too. What I can't stand, though, is the "poodly-dang-dang" stuff. Ergh.
