I know Phantom isn't everyone's bag, but if it *is* your bag, I gotta recommend this production, available for free on YouTube right now. I might...actually like the leads better than Brightman and Crawford? It's only available through Sunday, April 19 11am PT/2pm ET.

I second that recommendation! SO GOOD!

They've made some minor tweaks in the dialogue, too, that makes several of the scenes work much better than the original, imho.

I didn't notice that! It's been a l-o-n-g time since I listened to the original cast recording (still remembered most of the words, tho!).

I watched it late last night and really enjoyed it!! I LOVED that Christine and thought the Phantom was also excellent.

So glad you got to see it! Yes, Good Lordt the guy playing the Phantom. At one point I was like THAT. IS STILL. HIS CHEST VOICE. o_O

I really did like them better than Brightman and Crawford and heavens their chemistry was *chef's kiss*

I watched it yesterday! I liked it! With a few minor nitpicks, because nitpicking is what I do best!

I appreciate a good, gory bit of stage make-up, but when the big reveal happened, I had to laugh. Was part of his brain poking out??

Seriously, those leads were freaking electric!

I give stage makeup stuff a break from any semblance of realism--especially prothetics. That shit's gotta be seen from the nosebleeds, you know?
