I've been shot
Love it when Z1L looks tough/slightly dangerous (SEX BEAST SEX BEAST).

I fucked up the Fu Meng Po portrait and I had to start completely over with new base images. After reprinting, I got most of the texture work done on his shirt. I try not to get too upset when this sort of thing happens--it''s kind of expected, really. If I don't art on a regular basis I tend to forget steps (there are a lot of steps in my style of art) and once I've gone to the next one, there's no going back. I'm a little sad that some accent images I'd saved for years for ~something special~ got sacrificed in the process, though. Goodbye, beautiful Ace of Hearts image! 😭 I put about two hours of work into what I hope will be the final piece. Probably twelve to fifteen more hours to go. We'll see if I can make that April 11 deadline.
I also received my first vaccine shot yesterday afternoon. Didn't want to mention it earlier because I was fully prepared for them to turn me away. "Sorry, you don't actually qualify" or "What do you mean you don't have an insurance card?" etc. I got the Moderna version, so my follow-up is near the end of April. It was at the local community theater, which I have serious beef with, so I got a chuckle out of the fact that they managed to get me to darken their door, after I vowed never again several years ago.
In a wonderful (rare) stroke of luck, nearly all my local friends got or will get their shots within a week of mine so we'll be able to hang out indoors and hug each other in May. I still haven't wrapped my brain around that, and tbh I'm not thinking about it too much because I'll start crying.
When I left after my fifteen minute wait, they offered me a sticker, but I declined until I saw it.

Last night I dreamed a friend and I were partner dancing (two step, if you're interested) and it felt so good. I can lead (rock-step) Swing and verrrrry basic Two Step, and follow Cha-Cha and Waltz (as well as the other two that I can also lead). I am so looking into local partner dance events as soon as it's safe(ish) for things start up again. I've missed partner dancing for waaaaay too long. Show of hands, who wants to partner dance with me when it's possible?
eta: Wow, I thought I was doing fine post-vaccine but damn I just got hit with a wave of fatigue so intense I can barely focus my eyes. I'm going back to bed for a while. Ooof.
eta2: Took a 90-minute nap, made lunch, internetted a bit and now I'm ready for another nap. Trying not to think about what this means shot #2 is gonna be like. 😬

Yay for vaccines. That is definitely the best sticker I've seen so far.
Awww dancing. I'd need to work to have any stamina, but by the ripe age of 35, I finally started to have some notion of listening/cuing a partner for dance

Oh, lord, stamina ha ha ha hahaaaaa. I'm sure my first time out on the floor I'm barely gonna make it through one song (especially as a follow, oof). Communication with your dance partner is so important! And also my favorite thing about partner dancing. That silent, physical connection that's intimate but also casual. I love it.

I am reading a book called "Big Magic" about living a creative life, and the author explains that to Romans genius was a spirit that visited rather than something you are. I love that your use of art as a verb reflects that same sentiment.

I haven't danced since college (a little social dance and a lot of folk dancing), but I miss it. Would love to pick it back up again if circumstances ever permitted.

I wish we were doing better on that front. I get mine Monday, but only because I'm healthcare. We still haven't vaccinated our 60+ here and they pulled the AZ because of blood clots that are less likely than on birth control and might only be correlational. *scream* hugs when!

I am curious about why you are boycotting the local theater folk. I was at the arts center one year with my grad-school friend, BE, and her family to see the orchestra accompany a silent film, and it was all pretty great. Were you at the place on NH St or the place out by the new high school/Starbucks?

And yeah, this is the one on the far west side of town. When it happened, I ranted about it to my (Black) co-worker who had an office across the hall from me. He (being a playwright) works with them a lot and he was like "girl I'm not even surprised" so I think there's a lot more casual racism going on behind the scenes there that I don't want to support at all.
