Fanart: More Bai Yu birthday noodles. Seasons.

Cutie patootie birthday boy.

One of the most frustrating aspects of arting right now is when I do something sorta stressful (like gluing down accent pieces where there's no fudging even the tiniest error) I have to take a break afterward to let my cortisol levels even out. What used to be a mildly nerve-wracking step now stresses me so much my hands shake once I finish it. Obviously I can't do detail work with shaking hands so I have to take a twenty or thirty minute break every time. Sigh. That is not helping to speed things along on the Fu Meng Po portrait.

Adrenal/cortisol issues are a fucking drag, y'all.

That said, I think? I might? be done? I dunno. I hung it on my front door late yesterday afternoon to get some perspective and after looking at it all evening and this morning (I woke at 1:30am, ugh), I'm kinda happy with it. I wanted to add an accent outline around his head/hat (that's why I made that halo shape) but there's not a lot of room on the left side. I feel like if I add more it might get to be too much. Thoughts?

It's worth clicking the image to zoom in on his eyes and sunglasses. I'm thrilled with how the tape transfer looks on them (compare to how his eyes looked in the picture from Wednesday). The heart in the bottom center is a tape transfer, too. I love tape transfers. They add such depth.

Frustratingly but not surprisingly, I can't get the texture on his hand to show in a photo. It's actually colored with orange, green, and red pencils and crayons. There's a lot going on there that just... doesn't show in a photo (file under: I know my work doesn't photograph well). They usually scan better than they photograph, so 🤞.
