Sunday Snippet, et. al.
More behind the scenes clips. Z1L hurting pretty in The Rebel. New vid! I hate that Zhao Xinci is so hot. I headcanon that the reason he's such a snappy dresser is that he lets Zhang Shi make all their sartorial choices. One day I'll figure out how to write Shen Wei and Zhu Hong interacting.
Fanart: Adorable! Fashions! Emoji Chibis! Reaching. Kiss kiss. School AU comic. Can't tell you what's happening here, but I like the style.
I've been thinking a lot lately about the obscene (thank you,
goss) capitalist/white supremacist/colonialist shitshow that is COVID vaccine distribution and it makes me so angry. Ugh. UGH. I know I'm hardly alone in this. Hugs, y'all.
Didn't quite hit last week's word count, but I'm so grateful to get more than a few hard-won sentences in a day. It's wonderful. In this week's snippet, Zhao Yunlan is having another rewarding conversation with his favorite brother-in-law.
Ye Zun took a long sip and then carefully placed his cup on the table. He kept his eyes down, and for the first time since Zhao Yunlan had known him looked distinctly uncomfortable.
“I do know,” he said. He pressed his lips together before glancing up. “They won’t bother you again. Do you need to know more?”
Zhao Yunlan’s grumbling stomach twisted.
“I probably don’t want to, but you say things like that I think I probably should. What did you do to them?”
Ye Zun’s eyes flashed with an angry light that Zhao Yunlan knew all too well. Refusing his body’s instinct to recoil, Zhao Yunlan stiffened his spine. He reminded himself he was as strong and as powerful as Ye Zun, even if he didn’t quite know how all that worked, yet.
“What I did to them?” Ye Zun sneered. “What I did to them. That’s rich. First let me tell you what I didn’t do. I didn’t throw one of them into a lake to drown. I didn’t break their bodies by throwing energy waves at them. I didn’t crush them with a helicopter. So don’t you dare lay your judgment on me without first considering your own actions.”

Oh yes!
I hate that Zhao Xinci is so hot.
Well, he's Zhao Yunlan's father, the man comes by it honestly, you know?
One day I'll figure out how to write Shen Wei and Zhu Hong interacting
I always imagine for that scene that Shen Wei has automatically gone into professor-with-weepy-advisee mode.

he's Zhao Yunlan's father
I am so impressed with that casting, there. Like, dang, y'all.

SUCH an uncomfortable conversation--as it should be!

What I did to them. That’s rich.
Ooops. Blaming the victim for defending himself much, Ye Zun?
