Ouch. I forgot about this part.

Nearly 16 months after my last Depo shot, I'm starting what I think might be my First Real Period since about, oh, 1999. We've got some stellar cramps going on this morning. Truly phenomenal. Boy howdy do I wish I'd picked up those 3-packs of Thermacare patches when I was at Sam's Club this weekend (is $10 for 3 a good price? I wasn't sure). Perhaps this explains why I was so incredibly tired all day, every day last week.

I'm glad I started taking iron supplements again last month.

The next two weeks are looking particularly hellish, schedule-wise. However, this Saturday, February 12, The Rhythm Busters will be playing at Abe & Jake's Landing. They're down one guitarist, but they've still got their great western swing sound and I've no doubt they'll put on a good show. It's not quite Sellout style dancing, but I'll be wearing comfy shoes and hoping to hit the dance floor at least a few times, provided I can find willing partners.

Oh gross. This ancient, decrepit prof just walked into our office and started hacking (as in, leaning over and knees bent) and didn't even bother to cover his mouth. God, what is wrong with people.

It's its for three boxes, then it's a good price. Hell, those things are worth their weight in gold.

I'll keep that in mind next time I'm there. Heck, I forgot to buy dental floss and apparently we're running low on ibuprofen, so I might be going back sooner than I thought. =)

I don't miss the cramps, of course I'll get 9 months worth of them all in one shot come May.

Ick. I feel your pain today. me too.
In lieu of the ThermaCare, you can pick up two handwarmer pads for a buck at the Dollar General on 6th. Tuck them in the back of your pants.

Ooh, Rhythm Busters! I'm so there. I might even let Jay wear one of his c'boy hats ;)

oh yah, Ibuprofen (generic) is super cheap there too.

Great tips! Handwarmer pads... 1/3 the price... it's all about marketing, baby!

Sorry to hear you're suffering. Lemme get you some tasty lunch to make up for it, eh?

Poor girl! I never thought of it that way.

[identity profile] kijjohnson.livejournal.com 2005-02-07 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Poor girl! Yeah, I'd sell my mother for Thermacare patches, and that =is= a good price.

One problem with Depo...

[identity profile] angelbedwell.livejournal.com 2005-02-07 08:56 pm (UTC)(link)
is bone loss. Be sure you've talked to your doc about it and consider calcium supplements.

I started taking 1,500 mg of calcium supplements a day when I started on the Depo. I could go down to 1,200 or 1,000 mg now that I'm off, but I'm used to taking my little 500 mg Viactiv chew three times a day now, and I figure the extra can't hurt me. =)

You still get periods after having tubes tied? That doesn't seem right...

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-02-08 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Why not? I still have a working uterus. I just got my tubes tied, not a hysterectomy.

Wishful thinking, I guess!
