I've started doing a lot more page layout stuff lately, so I finally got PageMaker on my computer here. I just opened up a new document and the screen looks so wonderfully familiar. At the same time, it's been years since I used PM on a regular basis, so I've got a few hours of re-learning ahead of me. Adobe hasn't changed the program much since they purchased Aldus, however. It looks like such a friendly face. It's really, really nice.

Side note: I started using Aldus Pagemaker, version 1.0, on a Mac SE, back in the stone age. God, this is so cool to be back with a page layout program.

Cool! Is Quark XPress still around too? I used to use the heck out of that.

Dunno if it's still around or not. I used Quark a lot at the Comp Center, but PageMaker has always been my first love. =)

We just got the new Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop CS (excellent update!!) and InDesign, which I'm beginning to play around with. It's wicked cool.

Yup. QuarkXPress is still around for both Mac and PC versions. 6.5 is the most recent version to come out, but Quark has been having a tough time competing with Adobe InDesign over the past couple years....

I love PageMaker too. It is the program I'm currently using to do the book layout for Six Stones.
