Ow ow ow ow ow

Gah.

Little sleep last night.

Snow flurries on the other side of my window.

I just stretched and did something--something bad--to my neck and shoulders. Fuck. It's killing me. Killing me as in I cannot turn my head or look up. Down is ok. Sort of.

What the hell.

I knew I shoulda called in sick today.

Ow. Do over! I call do over!!!

UPDATE: Bloody hell. My Bed Buddy just sprung a leak. Which means I have rice all over my shoulders. But I can't bend my head to see to brush it off. So my office mate cleaned it all off. WTF.

Eep. Stop it with the sympathy pains, okay?
and wet icky snow. Yuck. Me too. I had my one "littlekid" ooh look it's snowing moment and then I looked at the ground and realized how damned cold it felt.

Do over! Go, go, go - before it starts snowing FIFTY-CENT PIECES again!

[identity profile] solan-t.livejournal.com 2005-11-15 05:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Right with you wanting a do over. Not that my day has been as bad as yours so far.

Oh, crud! It's snowing here, now, too!

Ooo-- sounds like something that happened to both me and my ex, [livejournal.com profile] onikudaki and me on two seperate occasions.. Tortacolis, or something?? Mine happened while executing a back roll in Ninjustu class, and Dan's.. Well, his happened much like yours-- he woke up one day and found to his surprise that he could hardly move his neck in any direction without incredible pain. They put him on valium for a week. Mine kinda just went away after a few days.

Murff-- sure hope you feel better soon...!! ::offers a weak but friendly foxy smile::

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-11-15 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Bleh. Didn't we just have a conversation about "so not ready for winter?"

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-11-15 05:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Boo.

But it makes me happy to see so many people liked my icon on [livejournal.com profile] userpicks. =) Thanks!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-11-15 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Valium for a week--yeah, that's not gonna happen. I'm allergic to every pain medication that's ever been thrown at me.

Bring on the ibuprofen...

Thanks for the foxy smile. =)

[identity profile] solan-t.livejournal.com 2005-11-15 05:30 pm (UTC)(link)
It deserves the attention!

[identity profile] rougewench.livejournal.com 2005-11-15 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
I so know the place you are in, my dear, have been there myself on a number of occassions now.

Valium is not a pain med, it's a muscle relaxant...as is Flexaril, are you not able to take either of these?

Another thing you can do, if you have taken it before and had no problems is Pamprin. It contains a mild muscle relaxant as well. I can never take it though because it's pain reliever is asprin, to which I am allergic.

Hope you feel better soon.

Sounds like she has a whole pallet of Mondays,
I hope she feels better soon.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-11-15 07:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Hadn't thought of Pamprin. Huh!!! I don't know if I'm allergic to muscle relaxants. I'll ask around here in Wescoe to see if any of the GTAs have any. Thanks!!!!! I'm not allergic to asprin, so that might be ok!

About sixty-five Mondays, all rolled into one.

if it IS tortacolis...

[personal profile] themadblonde 2005-11-15 07:21 pm (UTC)(link)
(been dealing w/ it for years & still can't spell the fucker) please try ice. I know heat *feels* better, but if that's what it is, ice will help more in the long run. AND it is a topical anaesthetic so it will help w/ the pain too.

Re: if it IS tortacolis...

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-11-15 07:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Frankly, I would rather live with the pain than put ice on it here at work. Perhaps when I get home, I'll try a cold pack. But w/o a heating pad under my butt, a cat on my lap, and a cup of something warm and alcoholic in my hands, no way am I putting something cold on me.

=D

gotcha...

[personal profile] themadblonde 2005-11-15 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
but when you get home & gather those disparate elements, you only need to do it for 10 minutes at a time if you do it once an hour.

It can't hurt, might help. Hope you're feeling better soon, whatever you use.

Thanks!!!

Oh, for goodness' sake, is -no one- going to take the bait?

So...your bed buddy sprung a leak, did he? And got stuff all over your shoulders? At work, no less! You naughty thing. And what were you doing to your bed beddy to make this happen, I wonder?

*waggle waggle go the eyebrows*

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-11-15 08:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Smart ass. That's why I put the link there.

*eyeroll*

I was tempted, but I knew it was a trap.

[identity profile] normalcyispasse.livejournal.com 2005-11-16 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
The entry made me a little sad for you, and then I read the update. Then I laughed in that "this is funny, but so sad!" sort of way. It's unfortunate that you don't have a friendly KU staffer who will give you a backrub at a moment's notice!

[identity profile] apocalypticbob.livejournal.com 2005-11-16 12:46 am (UTC)(link)
Those Bed buddies are super easy to make...I made my own with an large clean tube sock and a couple of bags of rice. I actually double socked mine, so that if one develops a hole, the other can catch the rice.

My sister in law to be keeps stealing mine, so now I need to make her one of her own.

Feel better, dear.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-11-16 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
My life has a history (or at least a long running trend) of being rather tragi-comic. Yes. It's ok. I laugh at my little misfortunes all the time. Good thing I have a sick sense of humor. =D

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2005-11-16 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep. I think I'm going to make a pretty cover for mine this weekend, maybe out of some nice novelty cotton. Thanks!
