Considering the definition of sexual harrassment is:

"Unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature constitutes sexual harassment when submission to or rejection of this conduct explicitly or implicitly affects an individual's employment, unreasonably interferes with an individual's work performance or creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive work environment."

No, the wenches at the Kansas City Renaissance Festival do not, under any circumstances, engage in sexual harrassment.

1. Just so you know, this year as a part of our contract package, all performers got to sign a "policy against sexual harrassment", so I actually to got to look into the exact ramifications of what we do in environment and whether or not I was in a position, legally, to sign such a document (unlike many in the RenFest world, I take the contracts I sign quite seriously).

2. You have caught the tail end of me getting to face, rather unpleasantly, the ramifications of other's perceptions of what we do as a part of the performance in environment. It is my decision to be a mite more proactive about adjusting those perceptions, if I think someone is mischaracterizing our purpose.

3. Having been someone who has gotten to deal with sexual harrassment in my world, it's not something I can joke about, any more than I could joke about rape.

& I do take your natural honesty into consideration when reading what you write. With some people, I might doubt their intentions, whether they're aware of them or not. Whereas I know that if YOU have a point to make, you're just going to make it, not imply it.
