Thud
That's the sound of my body hitting the wall. Oof. Tired. I need a night of uninterrupted sleep. Preferably ten hours. I'll settle for nine.
Today I shall make an effort to get up from my desk once an hour. At 9:00 I caried some boxes to my car--the boxes I've used to store my summer clothes the past couple years are absolutely shredded. Time for new ones. At 10:00 perhaps I'll go down and up the stairs in Wescoe. I have four more boxes to carry to my car, so that can be lunch and afternoon. Wish me luck. I think it's the only thing that will keep me from nodding off.
To top it off, I have tons of busy work in my inbox today. Bleh. Proofreading course descriptions for the Graduate Handbook, searching the annual bibliography for published monographs from our faculty for the past five years and searching the University Relations website for awards won by our department in the past five years.
Bleagh. This is just the kind of crap I don't like about my job. And it's just insult to injury that I gotta do it while exhausted.
It's shaping up to be a lovely weekend, though! Lunch and spa treatments with
nottygypsy, then a friend scored me a ticket to the Choreographer's Showcase in Lawrence. I'm going to Sweat Your Prayers on Sunday. I'm sure there will be a lot of freaks there, but a friend of mine has been encouraging me to go with her, and I could certainly use the mental and physical pick-me-up.
OK, well between phone calls, people stopping at my desk, and a break to refill my tea mug, it's 9:50. I just heard the whistle blow. Time to wrap this up so I can make my appointment with the stairwell.
