My test

It's a slow day at work, so I thought I'd make up my own test for anyone else having a slow day. Here you go, folks. Time for the hard questions. Are you ready? Punk?

EDIT: It just occured to me that my only-online friends are at a distinct disadvantage for one question in particular. Here's a hint: I'm not half as cheerful or gregarious in real life as I sound online. And if that doesn't scare you, I don't know what would. I'm so dry that people usually need to keep a glass of water on hand when conversing with me for long periods of time.

2nd EDIT: Ok, well nix that. Apparently some of my Meat Space friends think pretty highly of me, as well. You all rock. Thank you. Seriously. Thank you.

Wow... totally thrown. I didn't know you were a battery acid-drinkin', slug-eatin', right-wing marathon runner who loves clutter and whining.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
What I can't figure out (honestly) is why the blue chart showed up when I specifically chose pink. Fuckers.

sdemory??

[identity profile] lucifershalo.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
as In Sean Demory?? Holy crap...I run into you everywhere...this is Julian...heya man

(Thats all assuming Im correct)

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
OK, try it again now. It seems to be working. I have no idea why it marked all your answers wrong.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 06:15 pm (UTC)(link)
[livejournal.com profile] verminiusrex, you wound me. Mainstream Middle America? That's an arrow through the heart, dude. Arrow through the heart.

I knew it!!!

[identity profile] lucifershalo.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 06:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I knew all of that extra stalking was gonna come in handy...

and everyone said "Dude you're sick"...yeah, showed them didnt I!!!

[identity profile] nottygypsy.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
I rock!

You mean we can see their answers? Where! How?

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_luaineach/ 2006-12-21 06:18 pm (UTC)(link)
Damnit! I *knew* I was going to be wrong on the food one! As for the last question, I would have picked "all of the above" had there been that choice.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 06:20 pm (UTC)(link)
It's on the main page of the website where you can view your profile for the site.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
That's ok. Now you know about my bizarre food preferences.

And thank you--that's very kind about the last question. It's nice to know that someone, somewhere, thinks of me so highly. *hug*

[identity profile] stuology.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Honestly, it was a toss-up ;)

[identity profile] stuology.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
I guess that I'm going to have to keep that math puzzle book that I got her for xmas. Her loss, my gain.

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_luaineach/ 2006-12-21 06:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I personally hate avocado. Learned to suck it down when Jet was born so *he* would eat it, because it's great for kids.

As for the last question, ::shrug::, I could easily see you being all those things at some time or another. You *have* been all those things at one time or another. And I like them all. :)

I usually like my friends for their sarcasm tied with being laid back, in fact, I think there is some correlation between how laid-back a person in and how immediately sarcastically witty they can be. :)

[identity profile] professormass.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)

Damn. I have long-distance sooper-potent ChernobylRedSense. And it's tingling!

I sense...a desire...for shoes. And sunshine. Yes. It's all...so clear.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I love that you answered C on that one.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Honestly, I think the two develop hand in hand. When you're a kid, you don't know how to be sucessfully sarcastic (it usually comes out as just being a snot). You have to be willing to let the bad jokes come with the good ones and eventually you learn. But you gotta be willing to take the risk of saying something that makes you look dumb. And that takes a good helping of laid-back ness. The uptight sarcastic people just come off as assholes.

[identity profile] black-king.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 06:46 pm (UTC)(link)
I took the quiz but was then too lazy / paranoid to fill out the thingie with my info. :) so I've no idea how well I did.

oh well. Loves ya!

Sean does indeed pop up everywhere.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 06:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks, darlin'. It's nice to know you made half the effort.

Meat Space. Wow. The only other time I think I've heard that term before was in a sci-fi book series called Gateway

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 08:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Geeks unite!

[identity profile] theslice.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 08:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I actually feel both geeky AND tingly!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Would it make you tingly-er to know that I've met the author of Gateway, and hosted two receptions at my house where he was a guest of honor? =D

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_luaineach/ 2006-12-21 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
That makes *me* tingly!

Buhhhhh, buhhhh.

Whoa....

Yeah, that would be super f-ing cool in every way. So what's Mr. Pohl like?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 08:30 pm (UTC)(link)
Honestly, I didn't have much time to talk to him, since there were 40+ people there and I had to run around doing hostessy-type things.

He's obviously a very kind, generous man to come all the way out to Kansas for the Campbell Conference every year. He also donates his time, gratis, to help critique the participants of the writer's workshop that wraps up right before the Conference. Details on the CSSF here (http://www2.ku.edu/~sfcenter/index.html), if you're interested in either the workshop or the Campbell Conference.

Well, although it claims you're still a slug-eating, battery acid-drinking Republican, I'm shooting center mass now.

You're an open book, baby!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 09:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I did try my best to make the answers obvious.

I think this would be a better world if more Republicans drank battery acid. Don't you?

I am the original bad penny. Keep popping up as a matter of course.

Half-alive, at least. Did I hear your voice at Tabletop Games on Saturday? Thought that I did, but I wasn't sure.

[identity profile] sdemory.livejournal.com 2006-12-21 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Or ate slugs. I'm not terribly picky.

I got screwed in developing sarcasm and it tends to get me in trouble cause I assume people mean what they say when they are in fact being sarcastic. My dad used to make comments in front of others that they would take as sarcastic but my mom and I knew that he really was putting us down in that way and being honest with his comment. So I grew up with sarcasim being a backhanded slap that could be given in front of others without them even knowing it. - Thus explaining why I often get confused around sarcastic people
