Well this was kind of embarrassing...

You know the Bible 100%!

Wow! You are awesome! You are a true Biblical scholar, not just a hearer but a personal reader! The books, the characters, the events, the verses - you know it all! You are fantastic!

Hmmmm. No comment.

I'm very glad I made it to [livejournal.com profile] thespooklights show on Friday--excellent show, and possibly the last one for a while. Any good drummers out there at loose ends, looking for a band? Ring up [livejournal.com profile] secret_malady or [livejournal.com profile] scary_manilow. There's no other band like theirs in town--or in KC for that matter. I owe a debt of gratitude to [livejournal.com profile] cba1282zyx for encouraging me to haul my ass out on a cold, late Friday night.

I made up a few more needle cases in an effort to clear out yet more stash, and I thoroughly cleaned my kitchen. Hurray! I made it to Hancock's for more desperately-needed patterns, and even managed lunch out on Sunday. I'm slowly getting over the nasty head cold and can breathe through my nose most of the time now. Progress! I'm still not sleeping well, though. I had very odd nightmares last night, and must have slept in uncomfortable positions. I have what I can only describe as menstrual cramps behind my knees. A constant, dull, ache. Not fun. Hello, my good friend Naproxin Sodium!

Before I sign off, I'd like to give a public shout-out to [livejournal.com profile] cedarsong and [livejournal.com profile] everflame, who have been invaluable in providing me rides to work recently. The roads are clear enough for CRX driving, but I still can't get it over the curb to park on Memorial Drive. *sigh* You two are the best. A million thanks. I owe you big time.

I got 83% - my guess is many of our non-christian friends might score higher then the 'average christian'

Only 88%. A few of those I couldn't remember at all. Guess I'm doing a pretty good job of forgetting! I'll have to try harder.

I memorized the books of the New Testament to the tune of Yankee Doodle. Being able to sing that, decades later, helped on a couple questions. Who knew I'd ever use that again?

If only we could choose the knowledge we keep.

hmmm

[identity profile] theoneinblue.livejournal.com 2007-01-22 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
100%. Huh. I'm sure my parents would be proud. Such knowledge could be a double-edged sword, however...but what I don't see is how memorization makes one an "expert" - a wealth of things and no knowledge of what they are, where they come from, or what to do with them simply isn't useful...

By the way, I'm so glad to see you are feeling better!

*a wealth of things and no knowledge of what they are, where they come from, or what to do with them simply isn't useful...*

but it sure makes for darn good sheeple!

You know the Bible 100%? Wow, that must have been one long quiz.

I think it would should be more embarrassing to the Christians who follow it even though I'm sure they've never read it.

Exactly. It was the "You are a true Biblical scholar, not just a hearer but a personal reader!" part that really made me squick.

I really hope there are many, many future shows I get to see, too! Crossing my fingers for you guys.

You guys really are great--I'm not just saying that because you're sexy and I want to get in your pants. =D One of our lecturers (who teaches a class on punk literature and I think reviews music) saw your show for the first time on Friday. Not only was he very impressed, but he was really disappointed that he hadn't come to earlier ones.

To have that be true, one would have to assume those same people are capable of feeling shame. Something I sincerely doubt.

yeeeeaaah. Squick! I think if Sparknotes has a Bible guide, anyone could pass that quiz with 100%.
