On a clear day you can see forever, but today I'm going to be lucky to see through until tonight. I'm so tired. Dunno why, but I just couldn't sleep last night. I woke up this morning with a headache, but made an effort to dress sassy because you know that thing about looking good vs. feeling good? It's true. And it helps. Especially when hot women call out to you across the parking lot and tell you they like your boots. That's a good feeling, friends.
I made some good progress on the mohair scarf last night. It looks significantly less 70s crochet-ish in mohair than it did with the Micro-Spun. Thank gods. I was beginning to despair.
I've come to the decision that I'm going to have to bite the bullet and purchase a serger as soon as I can afford it, rather than wait until my credit card is paid off. There are too many projects I have on standby right now--including a shirt for my dad, three shirts for
professormass, and stretch knit clothes for me--for which I need a serger. So I'm in the market for good, used sergers. I'd love one that will do a lettuce-leaf edge hem but if that bumps the price up by more than a couple hundred dollars, I'll sacrifice that option. Just no more rinky-dink sergers for me. I want something that will hold up to a lot of use and one that doesn't succumb to the dreaded third-thread breakage like the Simplicity ones I've used in the past.
If I sold every needle case I have in stock right now, I'd have $500.
bestill and
tattooedartgirl, I think I'll be joining you in the ranks of Etsy sellers soon. Mama needs a serger. And a new pair of shoes.
