Allergies really suck the big one

Wow, I feel worse today. I didn't think it was possible to feel this shitty and not actually be ill. I couldn't fall asleep last night because my throat hurt so bad. Then I would cough and it would hurt more. Miserable. I woke up this morning and my eyes were so swollen I didn't even consider putting in my contacts. This is crazy. Obviously Claritin (well, Loratadine--the generic) is not cutting it anymore. This might be the year I cough up (no pun intended) the money to see if Mikell Adams can help me with my allergies. Because this is a ridiculous way to live.

I so want to make one of these (the bag, not the kitten) for Fetish. Think she'd really use it, though? It would be so fabulous if she did, but I suspect she'd just lie on top of it like she does with everything else (box lids, pattern instructions, my face). In which case I should just skip the sewing effort and toss the material on the floor. Because she lies on that, too.

When I came to work today, I thought the betting pool would be on if I lasted the day. Now I think it's going to be whether I last until noon.

UPDATE: The Graduate Director just called me and the moment he heard me croak my greeting, he said "Go home!"

Too cute! The picture of the kittens in their sleeping bags makes me wonder if any of my cats would sleep in one of those. I have a couple of cats who like to sleep under the covers.

I hope you find something soon to ease your allergies.

Try making one! I'd love to hear your results. I even have some fabric scraps and batting I could donate to the cause.

I am starting to feel like death warmed over and the allergist says I don't seem to be allergic to anything. :p So, maybe it's a season change thing and will pass soon?

Well, perhaps you just have a cold? I know I'm allergic to just about everything environmental allergen around, so I know that's what this is. I was also just informed that the mold count has been especially high the past couple days. Lovely.

NONONONONO! I can't be getting sick. You take that back!

No, really, I am hoping it's just because I slept with the windows open (which made for interesting dreams involving people just walking into my bed room. I suspect there were people talking outside my bedroom window in the wee hours of the morning or something.)

I hope you did go home!

My eyes used to swell shut because of allergies. Shots were the only thing that provided me relief. If insurance doesn't pay for Mikell Adams, maybe you could try a shot from your doctor first to at least get some of it paid by insurance.

Ugh. Poor baby. I hope it gets better soon.

I sooo wanted Mikell to be able to help me with my back/neck problems because everyone raved about her. (Funny, I know both of the people on her testimonials.) But alas, her methods were far too subtle and took too long for my patience and my wallet to gain any benefits. My next stop for those issues will be Andy Chang. I think it must be the allergies that she does best, so I hope for you that it works out. I do remember Indra being miserable with allergies when I worked for him at AP, so it's wonderful that he's found relief.

Kitty Sleep Sacks! how cute. Maybe would probably go for one, but I can't imagine the size of one I'd have to make for Ymir! Perhaps Fetish would go for a Sleep Pad?

Tics and Allergies

I'm right there with you on both counts (yesterday's post and today's). My right eye, bottom lid twitches every now and again. It's actually kinda funny the way it makes the world move around, but only for the right eye. The allergies, however, suck the hardness. Throat. Eyes. Ears. Bah.

Those kittens and the sleeping bags are too cute. I wonder how they got the cats to lie on their backs like that for the photo. I wonder if my cats would like them. The always like to climb in sacks . . .

I am wondering if you are home sick today. I hope you feel better. I have heard that everyone is feeling like crap and having allergy problems.
