Appreciation

I'd like to offer up some public thanks to solan_t for letting me use her serger, and starstraf for giving me a heads-up on the fabulous Hall Center presentation yesterday.

My goal this week: One new garment a day through Friday. And then I really need to get some photos of my new wardrobe. I have to admit, it's shaping up to be pretty fancy baby.

I see _luaineach over there in the corner, rubbing her hands and eagerly awaiting the inevitable garments that will turn out too-small-for-Miss-Red.

Speaking of gratitude, I've totally sucked at getting you those CDs. I suppose I could blame it one the fact that I always see you whenever I don't plan to, and don't see you when I plan to.

HAHAHAHA...FUNNY TYPO DURING THAT SENTENCE: I typed "sex" instead of "sew"...and considering the sentence, that is not only funny, but FALSE. ;D

Anybody can sew if they want to put the time in to learn. It might take Person A longer than Person B to get the hang of it, but really, it's a skill, not a talent.

That's a more ambious goal than I think I would set myself. I suppose it depends on how complicated the garment is, though.

It's all simple stuff. Last night I made a kimono-style blouse. Tonight, probably a linen A-line skirt. I'm making wardrobe basics for summer.

I'm not doing anything else this week, so it's not so bad. I get home from work, wolf down some leftovers, and hit the sewing room. By 9:30 (that gives me nearly four hours), I should have a garment. Whether it fits or not...well...

I did have a blouse that came out miserably large this weekend. And I discovered too late that I put the sleeves in backwards. Good thing I wasn't too attached to the fabric. It was very cathartic to rip the damn thing apart.
