Boots, tunes, and threads
I found some boots. They're a wee bit pricier than what I hoped to pay, but Timberland is a pretty reputable company, so I would assume/hope that these are damn fine quality boots. I think I'll go ahead and spring for these next month, with the intent to get them well broken in before I start trudging up to work in them on ice-crusted sidewalks.
Yeah, you think that time's far away, but it's just around the corner. Srsly. Boo.
I bought some CDs at Border's last night. One I've wanted for a while, one that looked good for chill-out background music, and a bellydance CD that, alas, I don't like that much now that I've listened to it. I'm going to go back tonight for a different Middle Eastern CD based on recommendations from the
bellydancing comm. Meh. I'm also going to take some notes from my Amazon Wish list--forgot to do that before I left for the store yesterday.
I met some friends downtown for dinner last night, too, and stopped by Wild Man Vintage to see if anything else from my summer stock sold. Half the remaining items I had on consignment were gone, so I walked out of the store with cash and only four garments--the garments I gave away at dinner. We'll see if they fit the recipients. I would prefer not to pack those items up for the season. The woman at the register asked me "You are going to bring some stuff in for Fall and Winter, right?" I told her I'd try. I can't justify selling the clothes I make at used-clothing-store prices, but I certainly can sell my old stuff that I've worn for a few years! What a nice way to rotate out the garments I'm tired of, or don't quite fit anymore.
Speaking of new garments for the changing season, I'm trying very hard to resist making a sizable purchase from Fabric.com. They've got some stunning brocades at some stunning markdown prices.
Boots! Boots! Not more fabric! Boots. Saving money for boots.
