Five days?

Five days? Really? LJ tells me my last entry was five days ago.

Dang.

I'm in a bit of a funk right now. I think I need Faire to be over. Next year I shall organize my time a little better to allow more time with [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick. Apparently I turn into quite a grump when I don't see him for more than 15 or 20 minutes a day. For two months. Bleh. I'm feeling depressed (as opposed to the standard Occasional Downs), and I haven't experienced any actual depression for a while. I love Faire, but gods it takes a lot out of me. Last night I went to bed as soon as I got home from work. I wasn't physically tired--just drained.

Photos of Columbus Day are forthcoming. Things have been crazy busy here at work. But tomorrow is the first day of Fall Break, so I should have some time to get those downloaded, cropped, and online. [livejournal.com profile] thefox_rb, I think you got the best shot of Lyle, combing his hair in the Pit. If you can email me copies of those, I'll put them up. Thanks.

Does anyone know of Halloween events in the Lawrence/KC area? I'd really like to go to a party, preferably one with good music and dancing--and I don't have the time or energy to organize one myself. Anybody got rockin' costume party leads?

Faire, for all it is a grin, is a tremendous drain. I know I've hit the physical and mental wall with regards to it. As much as I've enjoyed it, I am so ready to be over...I've got waaaaaayyyy too much other crap I need to be doing, and I really need my brain back for work.

D.

I know just how you feel. Not about [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick, obviously. :) But the idea of not seeing [livejournal.com profile] gmskarka for more than 15 minutes a day was one of the reasons that I didn't commit to faire on my own this year.

Dammit, you just made me miss Kansas.

At least it's almost over. I know what you mean, though, something may be fun, but not so constantly as faire season. It's work, I'm sure.

Are you still up for supper tomorrow?

[identity profile] fireguarder.livejournal.com 2007-10-11 01:19 am (UTC)(link)
As a matter of fact, I do happen to know of one hell of a good party in KC. If you're interested, I'll wrangle you an invite. You'll prolly recognize some ConQuesT folks.

Bet you're (finally!) going to need something warm on your hands this weekend, yes?

[identity profile] maibe.livejournal.com 2007-10-11 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
I admire you Faire players. I couldn't do it. I'd get burned out and start eating Faire visitors before it was over.

Post-performance drop?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-10-11 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh HELLS yes. Friday dinner and chat with you is one of the things I've been looking forward to!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-10-11 02:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Awesome. Email me with info on the party.

And huzzah for warm handsies!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-10-11 02:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Who says we don't?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-10-11 02:17 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't think so...It's like I finished my period but never got over the PMS. And I've never had post-performance blues last for two goddamned weeks.

Ugh, that completely succeth.
Here, have a milky Earl Grey and a biscuit.

Oh man, I haven't had a good tea and bikkies time in a while. Whaddya say to a Saturday afternoon crafty tea time sometime in November? Email me!

[identity profile] nkcmike.livejournal.com 2007-10-11 03:15 pm (UTC)(link)
If it's the party I think it is (the one put on by [livejournal.com profile] kc_risenphoenix), then A) I was going to suggest it too, and B) you don't need an invitation -- just directions. This party sometimes has over 200 in attendance.

If that's NOT the one [livejournal.com profile] fireguarder had in mind, then I'll provide a few more particulars. Would be good to see you (which I haven't since ConQuesT).

[identity profile] indigodreamer.livejournal.com 2007-10-11 03:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Not sure if it's what you had in mind, but you would be happily welcomed at the SAGE halloween party! :)

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-10-11 03:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooo, there's a thought! Can you email me with time/date/location info? There's nothing on the SAGE website.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-10-11 04:22 pm (UTC)(link)
Cool! Thanks!

[identity profile] indigodreamer.livejournal.com 2007-10-11 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
We're meeting next week to finalize plans; you'll be among the first to know! I can almost guarantee that it will be the Saturday before Halloween, probably at 7 or 8.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2007-10-11 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Rats. I'm out of town that weekend. That's another thing that's really nixing my options for good costume parties. *sigh*

[identity profile] kalimeg.livejournal.com 2007-10-13 09:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I can imagine that it is no fun to be so occupied that you don't get to see the person who's important to you. I only tried to do RenFest one year -- that was it for me. My son, on the other hand, loved it and did at least 5 years. The people who make it their community seem to last the longest.
