Vertigo?

Hm. So I'm feeling a bit wonky again, after feeling better yesterday afternoon and evening. I was fine when I got up to exercise this morning. Just now, after 90 minutes or so in front of my monitor, the world is kind of being weird and my stomach is turning.

I think it might be vertigo issues, brought on by allergies and the weather change. Maybe looking at the monitor exacerbates the dizziness. Meh. I'm going to close my office door and lie down for a bit to see if it passes.

Oh dear. I hope you feel better soon. :(

Ugh. I have BPPV and it's occasional and GROSS.

That is fascinating. I've never heard it diagnosed/described like that. I'm going to try some of the exercises when I get home. Thank you!

All the empathy in the world on the vertigo thing.

Mine has been triggered bad by the two rounds of colds this month (I'm so not looking forward to being on a plane).

Hope you feel better soon.

Good Wiki article on BPPV (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benign_paroxysmal_positional_vertigo).

"Meclizine is a commonly prescribed medication, but is ultimately ineffective for this condition, other than masking the dizziness. "

Dang. That's what my prescription is. I guess that's why I sometimes wake up after taking it and still feel gross.

Have you tried this treatment (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eOuzUi5ckrk)?

I've tried it on occasion, but I'm not sure if it really helped, or if it was just the lying down and breathing slowly for 30 seconds. =)

Nothing I've tried has ever helped remove my main trigger--getting dizzy to the point of nausea when I tilt my head backwards. No matter what I try, I get super dizzy when I do that, every time.

Well, meclizine is the same thing as dramamine...all it does is quell the nausea, it does not really treat the cause of the vertigo itself.
