I wonder how expensive this stuff is. I miserly savored the contents of the bottle of Yazi Ginger Vodka that Some Mysterious Angel From Heaven delivered to my door last xmas. Time to try this one, I think.


I'm wearing one of my new bras today for the first time. It's all padded and shit. I haven't worn a standard padded bra as foundation wear (as opposed to a costume bra) for years. I look fucking awesome in my sweater today. Just saying.

Last night I got to spend some time hanging out with be_still. I haven't seen her for ages and I've missed her. She has some gorgeous new art that she's been working on--prints on painted canvas. I'm going to order one as a special commission, and possibly others for xmas presents this year. They're beautiful!

Yes, it's nearly holiday buying season (some of us have already started) and I encourage everyone to give art--this year, and every year. Shop your local galleries. Many (most?) self-employed artists are going to have a hard time of it with the current economic climate. If you plan to purchase gifts for people this year, please consider doing your shopping outside of the big box and chain stores.

May I recommend:

Julie Zarate, paintings, giclee prints, ACEO cards, and shrines.

Paul Flinders, whose work I discovered just last week and I'm completely ga-ga over it.

If paintings aren't your thing:

Traci Bunkers, fibers, yarns, rubber stamps, photography, and original art.

Rotsina Creations, enameled stuff, including lipstick cases and business card holders.

Don Tuininga, woodwork.
