Cat
Fetish was a complete brat last night, so she got locked in the downstairs bathroom from about 1:00 a.m. until I woke up (staggeringly late) this morning at 8:10. Now I'm indulging her by letting her lie on my lap while I sit at the dining table doing my LJ and email. This means I've finished my first cup of coffee but I cannot go get a refill because there is a cat on my lap.
Cat owners understand that Cat On My Lap means one is ineligible for any activity--answering the door, fixing the toilet that just started to run, putting in a different CD, refilling the drinks. Cat On My Lap condition has its advantages and disadvantages. When one is the only person awake in the house (not to mention the only person who drinks coffee and, thus, knows how to prepare the beverage to one's taste) it is a definite disadvantage.
But, oh, the sweetness and cuddly warmth of a happy cat who loves her mama and doesn't resent (too much) being locked in a bathroom overnight. Worth it.
