Spin

I'm almost caught up with stuff at work. Just a few little loose end things and my inboxes will all be empty.

The latest issue of Readymade had one of the most fantastic ideas for minimal-space wine storage I've ever seen. I want to build one. I just need PVC pipe, plywood, and magnetic paint.

I fasted yesterday in an effort to get rid of some of the bloat caused by birthday-weekend binging. Lots of water and weak tea. Ate only a moderate dinner. Got on the scale this morning. I'm still up five pounds from where I was on Thursday. WTF? Not fun.

My vertigo issues are present again. I had bouts of dizziness/motion sickness over the weekend, and I'm still dizzy today. I'll go to Walgreen's tonight to buy some real pseudoephedrine. A massive dose or two of that is the only thing I've found that relieves the sinus/inner ear pressure I believe is the cause of my low-level vertigo. I really need to be over this by Saturday.

This morning, I was dizzy enough that instead of doing my FlowFit program, I hopped on the stationary bike. I did okay, but I had to take it really easy for a long time afterwards. What with slow morning preparations and a last-minute cat barf discovery, I was late to work. Sucky. I did get a cute photo of me with Fetish, though, thanks to a necessary lie-down on the couch.

I've lost my enthusiasm for making a new costume, I can barely get out of bed in the morning, and I have no energy for anything except reading or watching movies. I think I might be getting depressed. Bleh.

Or you might have a nasty bit of sinus stuff that is making you sick and tired - maybe when you get that knocked out you'll feel better overall. I hope! *hugs*

You know what's odd, I've never been prone to dizziness, but recently I've had several moments of intense disorientation. Usually when I'm on the mill. I have to stare directly at one point or I feel like I won't be able to stay steady.

I find it very odd, esp given your vertigo upswing.

I've lost my enthusiasm for making a new costume, I can barely get out of bed in the morning, and I have no energy for anything except reading or watching movies.

Ditto. In the past week, I've exercised twice. Yes, I had a re-root canal and abdominal-flux, but I usually would push through. I don't think I'm getting depressed though. Just lazy.

We have prezzies for you! Does that help? :D

The thought of hanging out with the two of you helps a bit, yes. Prezzies I can take or leave, but your company? *mwah*

I just feel so gross. And it's not all just post-birthday or the extra five pounds, either. I feel incredibly ... off. Like soured milk.

Do you feel like butter scraped over too much bread? I suspect you need a holiday.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 07:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Har har.

I do need a holiday, but that doesn't have anything to do with this motion-sick issue. I don't think.

Bleahh. Bleagh, I say.

I just wanted to thank you on a separate note for cluing me in to the goodness that megadoses of pseudoephedrine can do with sinuses are in a bad way. It helped me out again today when my whole face was hurting so badly and I couldn't pin down if it was teeth or sinuses or headache or all three, basically just throbbing pain from behind my eyes down to the roof of my mouth. Megasudafed and it's lessening already 20 minutes later. THANKYOUTHANKYOUTHANKYOU.

You're welcome! Sinus pressure is so awful. I'm glad to hear you're already feeling better!

[identity profile] curieuse.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm really just learning to identify it at 28 -- how sad is that?!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks. I don't think I'm physically ill, though. I'm pretty good (by now) at sensing the difference between general weird sinus pressure and a virus. So far, no ... well, no discharge if you know what I mean. But you have a good point. I think I'll down the Sudafed with some Emergen-C for good measure.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2009-02-03 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, I didn't start having allergy/sinus issues until I was in my mid-twenties, so you're doing fine. =)

*hugs*

This is a hard time of year for me too.

Bonine is also good for vertigo. I've been beset by it several times a year since the late 1980's.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 02:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Bonine? Huh! Never heard of it. Off to google it. Thanks!

We should have a club.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 04:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah. Meclizine hydrochloride. Yeah, I have a prescription for that--and a full bottle of it. It doesn't help me at all, but it is nice for when I have trouble sleeping! =D

[identity profile] rougewench.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Just so you know, you can get that stuff without a prescription now...it's sold as Dramamine II (not that you'd need it if it doesn't actually work for you)...

D.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2009-02-04 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
It's actually cheaper with the prescription, though. But it doesn't do anything except make me drowsy.
