Needling
My acupuncture appointment went...fine. I guess. I didn't have any expectations, and I'm not sure what I should be feeling now, if anything. She said she could feel the cold of my head cold in my pulse. She put two needles in my face to help with that, in addition to the needles targeting the G.I. issues. She was of the opinion that I might have parasites, but seeing as I have a pretty solid diagnosis from KU Med regarding the bacterial overgrowth, I'm disinclined to agree with her. I'm debating if it's worth it for me to ask my PCP to check for that since I really don't want to have to deal with submitting a stool sample. Gross. She also recommended I start an elimination diet as soon as KCRF is over.
No sugar
No dairy
No wheat
No fruit (like grapes, apples, bananas, etc. "Vegetable" fruits are okay)
No alcohol
I'm fine with everything except the nixing of alcohol. Boo, hiss. She said that allowing myself one day off the diet a week is fine, though, so at least I can still have a couple glasses of wine one day a week. I've gotta give up dairy, too, which will be annoying but not as annoying as the lack of my daily drink. Oh well. I'm going to start cutting out some things now. Sort of gradually work my way into the program. Perhaps then I won't be so cranky. So as soon as I finish this container of yogurt for lunch today, I'm off cow products. The wheat I was planning to quit anyway. Since I haven't had time to cook, I've been making sammiches for lunches and nearly every dinner. As a result, my hands are starting to break out in hives. So no more wheat for me, and that's fine. After faire, I'll cut the fruit, sugar (what little I eat now, mostly just honey in my tea) and booze.
So basically, I'll be eating healthfully again. Yay?
I'm also supposed to pick up a bottle of pro-biotics from Ethical Nutrients. Anyone heard of this company? Supposedly they carry them at the Merc. Hope they aren't too pricey. My last experience with a pro-biotic was a big old Fail. Not that they did harm, they just didn't do anything
EDIT: I should note that last night I was full of energy and pep. Got more sewing done than I expected I would. Today, though, especially in the past twenty minutes, I feel like I've been hit with a Tired Bat. E-x-h-a-u-s-t-e-d.
