KSDL

I renewed my driver's license this morning. Since I didn't get the renewal thing in the mail, I had to take the test at the DMV.

I still think two feet is way too narrow a margin to give bicyclists when you pass them on the road. Just sayin'.

I wish I could better tell how this DL photo was going to look. The weird reciept photo isn't very indicative of the actual photo. I guess I'll know in ten days.

How long has it been since smoking was outlawed in office buildings? Our DMV still smells like smoke. Their air handling system must be worse than Wescoe's. Scary thought. No wonder they're all so grumpy.

Two feet?! I thought it was at least five!

KS Drivers Handbook says four feet to the left when passing a bicyclist.

It was one of the three answers I had to look up in the booklet because I wasn't certain. I was shocked. Or maybe I misread, mismarked, and my grader wasn't as careful as he should've been...

Seems a little close, doesn't it?

It's four feet, I just did the test this week.

Ditto this comment. I still have the handbook from when I renewed mine in December. It is four feet.

It does, but heck even the legal four feet seems close to me.
I give them an entire lane if I can.
I wonder how wide the bike route lanes themselves are?

Oops! I guess my grader wasn't very careful, nor was I a good reader.

The real answer is "As much space as I can depending on oncoming traffic, and if that jackass biker is smart enough to move to the side before he gets my treadmarks up his back then even more space." But "four feet" is easier to fit on the test.

I can never recall the people who work at the driver's license place being nice, EVER!! What is it about that place?

Did you have to take the road test again, too?!

UGH...such bad memories. I failed twice and then on the third time, I had the same exact bastard as the first time and he remembered me and kept me out on the road about 20 minutes. I should have passed the first time, but I was so used to backing out of the driveway, that I accidentally started the test by rolling back about an inch, tops...the guy made me do the test, which I did perfectly, and then informed me that it was a fail from the get go.

Maybe cleaning persons are smiking in the building at night -- or someone who works late smokes.

I get as far away from bikes as I can! And I hate to follow motorcycles, too.

Oh my god, what an asshole! I have no idea why those people have to be so mean.

No, thank god I didn't have to take the driving test.
