Boring health update for the health nerds
My blood work results came in the mail yesterday. My T4 levels were lower than this time last year (how much lower I'm not sure since I forgot to grab my print-out of last year's test before leaving the house this morning). And my T3 count is way low. My TSH is out of range (on the low side) at .33.
Here's the numbers, especially for
grnvixen:
T4 = 1.5 (range = 0.8 - 1.8)
T3 = 230 (range = 230 - 420)
TSH = 0.33 (range = 0.40 - 4.5)
I'm all around low. I feel vindicated. Next time I shall speak up sooner about wanting stronger doses of the thyroid meds. Yay for correctly interpreting what my body is telling me.
I'm scheduled to get another test done after two months on this new dosage.
After a week on the liothyronine (the new stuff, to boost my T3), I've noticed two things. I'm waking up slightly earlier (6:30 to 6:40 instead of 7:00 to 7:10) and I'm hungry a lot. One of those things is awesome. The other not so much.
Monday's consultation appointment with the acupuncturist went very well. I like her. She's open-minded and didn't have a pre-set agenda for treatment. She was willing to consider the KU Med diagnosis and the opinion given by the acupuncturist I saw in Indiana. I've already scheduled my next three appointments with her.
