The Salon of Ass Kicking

[livejournal.com profile] miischelle's bellydance salon class yesterday was outstanding. Absolutely wonderful. I didn't even mind (too much) doing the wretched Monster move over and over again because it worked so wonderfully in the combo. Although I admit that, once we were left to our own devices while she walked around checking in on the other students, I changed the combo a bit into something I might use in my own dance style.

This morning, the following areas are sore: Hip joints (quelle surprise), my obliques where they curve around to meet my lattisimus dorsi, my gluteus medius, and the anterior heads of my detoids (wtf). It's very strange that the muscles that felt tired yesterday (quads and triceps) are fine. Not even stiff. Weird. Maybe I'll pay for those tomorrow?

At The Latenight Callers show at Crosstown Station, I was reminded of how much I want to do a (very unlike me) choreography to one of their songs. Then they played another one that simply cries out to be cha-cha'ed to. *sigh*

I got outbid on the bodyfat scale, but it looks like Sears might carry it for only slightly more than Costco, and if it saves me shipping and a possible drive to KC to return it...well. So I'll be heading to Sears today. Perhaps they'll have some Father's Day sales going.

And now I am off to grate more zucchini for another round of Savory Vegetable Pancakes. I'm still lacking carrots and onions, but I have some leeks. I'm going to try browning the grated vegetables a bit, then letting them cool before adding them to the egg mixture. We'll see if that helps the excess liquid problem. And there shall be bacon on the side.

It's a rule, the bacon.

Check online for a Sears coupon before you head out.
Retailmenot often has the big box stores listed, I'll look at my email to see if they've sent me one today..

Thank you for the tips!

I make similar things, although I call them fritters, with summer squash and other veges. After I grate them, I put some salt on it, set it in a strainer and put a paper towel on top and then set something heavy on top of that. About 30 minutes like that and quite a bit of water gets drained out. Makes yummy fritters and is about the only way I like to eat summer squash.

Oooh! I hadn't thought to put something heavy on top. Brilliant! Thank you.

Anytime I can manage to make you sore, I consider the day to have been a success.

I need more bacon in my life...

I recently on Facebook mentioned my noble aspirations to become a bacovegetarian.

Oh yeah, like a brick or something of similar heft. That would make it better.

It was a total success! The muscles at the tops of my hips are still a bit tender. Thumbs up!!!!

I'm going to do the conditioning class every day this week, except for today because I have yoga tonight. Also, shall work on my version of Eyesore (Eyeswore?). I'm inspired!

I know a couple people who are bacovegetarian. Myself? I'm too dependent on animal protein since I can't eat hardly anything else. =D
