Fighting form
Not at work today.

I'm getting on a plane in a few hours to go see my folks for the Annual Spring Visit. It's another trip packed with visits to see other people, so I'm not anticipating as much relax-o-time. Unfortunate. I'm debating whether I want Katie to try trimming up my ends or just let it go until fall. When I had her trim it last October, she took off way too much length in an effort to get the layers right. I'm more interested in length than even layers at this point, so...Meh. Dunno.
And yes, I get my hair cut by a friend of the family twice a year while I'm visiting my parents in Indiana. When I was a kid (in Indiana) I used to get my hair cut only once a year. I don't know that I've mentioned it on LJ, but I am so happy to have long hair again. I loved my little Chelsea cut variant, but damn. This hair. Never shall I ever take for granted this head of hair.
Good thing about the hair because my body is driving me to despair. Still. For about a week, I was down to only about a two-inch increase/swelling after meals. Now I'm back up to four inches. I can't wear my jeans at all because I'm swollen/fat enough that they're snug when I put them on. So after a meal, they're just painful. I know I'm up a little bit of weight since the end of KCRF because I've been a lazy-ass lump. But I know it's not more than ten pounds, and let me tell you--the amount of mass around my belly and hips? Fuck of a lot more than ten pounds.
My body dissatisfaction has gotten to the point where I am thrilled at the prospect of finally making time to start Crossfit on Monday. Here's my thinking: I might not be able to get these swelling issues under complete control, but I can at least have a lean and kickass baseline body to start with. If, swollen, I look like I do/did when I wasn't swollen? That is just jim-dandy with me. So here's to my getting into fighting form (somewhat literally) by September.
Thanks to the folks who've loaned us the various Avengers movies so I can go to the actual Avengers movie in May feeling like I'm at least minimally educated/informed as far as the movieverse goes. I am hoping like a hopeful hoping thing that The Avengers more closely resembles Iron Man and Captain America. In an email to some friends yesterday, I related my reactions after seeing each movie (in the following order):
Thor: "I can't believe I watched that whole thing."
Captain America: "That was actually a good movie. Thank god."
Hulk: "How the fuck was this a better movie than Thor*?"
I can see myself falling (read: Taking A Running Swan Dive) into Stark/Steve fic thanks in no small part because of the qualities of their movies. The idea of that much pretty in oneroom bedroom together sure doesn't hurt, either. JFC.
* I mean, besides the obvious factors of Ed Norton and Tim Roth. And can I also just throw in here: HOLY SHIT LOU FERRIGNO WHAT ARE YOU DOING AND CAN I BUY SOME? I mean damn he looked good for the ten seconds he was on screen. The man is sixty years old, just DAMN.

Ugh on the swelling gains again. Boo, hiss, even.
That pic is one of my faves, too, every bit of it.
Oh, I thought you were talking about the other Avengers (http://scifimafia.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/The-Avengers-a-celebration-cover-491x560.jpg) and started to squeee.
But oh yeh... that movie Thor was a damned disappointment, especially after so many years of living with a Big Fan of All Things Thor.
Have fun and enjoy the trip as much you can.
No, no cut hairs now.

What all do you sew? I've not looked further through your flicker than the one set of your dancing pics.
And, on the swelling part; I have a bit of the same problem when my sodium/salt intake is too high. But from what I've read, yours is much more involved than that.
I've read back a bit on your journal, but maybe not far enough to understand the matter. Is is celiac, or just a bunch of food sensitivities?

I used to watch the Avengers when I was a kid! We made time for it every week!
Sorry you have to deal with all this body swelling. :( You really are quite a hottie, though you prolly don't feel like it when you're swollen.

Oh gosh, I sew a lot. Most of my skirts and trousers, all my dresses, some blouses. I don't sew jeans! I also made my Renaissance festival garb (chemise, bloomers, skirt, bodice) and my bellydance costumes. I also sew costume-costumes, like Steampunk costume one (http://www.flickr.com/photos/chernobylred/4730693136/in/set-72157611086057662) and Steampunk costume two (http://www.flickr.com/photos/chernobylred/4730658250/in/set-72157611086057662), an anime costume (http://www.flickr.com/photos/chernobylred/3236974432/in/set-72157611086057662), and my la catrina (http://www.flickr.com/photos/chernobylred/6298560289/in/photostream) costume. I like costumes. A lot. =D
