Salty little pig strip
Holy Shit You Guys We Know What Mars Looks Like Now. Repeat: WE FUCKING KNOW WHAT MARS REALLY LOOKS LIKE. I want to re-read Robinson's Mars Trilogy now. Well, I always want to re-read it because it's (possibly) my favorite SF story, and it's definitely my favorite SF series.
Seen on my Tumblr dash this morning: Thanks to Tumblr, I know the plot, characters, ships, inside jokes etc. of every single even vaguely popular fandom, but I still have absolutely no clue what Homestuck even is. Pretty much, yes. Also seen on Tumblr, this joke about the Reichenbach Fall Sherlock episode should not be as funny as it is. Or maybe I should say I shouldn't find it as funny as I do.
Sucked it up and went to CrossFit today. It felt good. Hard (as always), but good.
Warm-Up:
Prowler Push x2 That sucked. I don't know how much the prowler itself weighs, but for the girls we had two 45-lb plates. I made it all the way to the end of the stretch the first time, but the second time I came up about a meter short and just couldn't do any more. *sigh*
Skill:
Push Press (behind the neck) 5×5
1 Squat clean every 30 seconds for 20 min. This was a little boring and I would rather have done one every 15 seconds.
WOD:
AMRAP in 10 minutes
5 pull-ups
10 push-ups After all the other WODs this week (and the pull-ups), my arms were done by the fourth round and I had to do them in two stages--up from the knees, and then straighten the knees into plank.
15 air squats
I got nearly five rounds in (the push-ups really slowed me down the last round). I finished with four rounds of the pull-ups and push-ups, but didn't get to the fifth round of squats before the timer went off. I went ahead and did them, though, before heading home.

I'm still pretty swollen all the time right now. First-thing-in-the-morning waist measurement is 32 inches. Two inches up from a few weeks ago, and four inches up from this time last year. Boo, hiss. I'm not thrilled about dancing at Smoker feeling all gross and wobbly.
But now, a song for the non-vegetarians:
