It's more than I can stand

Yesterday I was crafty for several hours. It felt good! The piece I'm working on is slow going, though. There's not a lot of detail to embellish, so I have to make stuff up and put texture and design where there isn't much to go on. Making stuff up isn't my strength. I can follow a pattern, or make fancy an existing design. I'm not so great with blank spaces. This is why I like doing those big altered portraits. There's lots of things to play with on a face. Not so much with a figure in the middle of a big background. Ah, well, artistic challenges are good.


Another good multifandom fake movie preview. Sherlock/Who.

I wish I could bring myself to watch Who, but I can't deal with the heartbreak.

I am, however, always interested in watching outstanding dance performances. And when an outstanding dance performance happens to be two men recreating the tango from Moulin Rouge, well...

Who really isn't that heartbreaking... Well, a couple of episodes are. But for the most part, it's more horror/suspense then heartbreak.

Now, if you want real Son Meilleur for heartbreak... Being Human (UK, because the US version is rubbish.). Dear god, that show is good.

Oh well shit. I was thinking about checking out Being Human, based on the gifs I've seen on Tumblr. Okay, maybe not. Thanks for the warning. I've got all the heartbreak I need with Sherlock and Supernatural.

I am having crafty times right now. I am working on a mixed media heart thing, working on a mixed media collage using some very, very old newspaper pages from my family horde, and making a mixed media collage using pages I tore out of the Bible I got when I was a fundamentalist for a short time when I was thirteen. I am using Ephesians and some maps. I have to put down layers with self-leveling gel, then let them dry for a long time, so advancing the projects takes a while.

Yeah, Moffat is one of the reasons why I'm avoiding Who. I can stand it in Sherlock...mostly because there's just less Sherlock. But GOD I really can't stand Moffat's misogyny. Lord. It's worse than Supernatural's.

I'm now done with mine, except for gluing it down to the canvas, which must wait until it's totally dry. So, this evening probably.

One great thing about the crackly paper in my old Bible is that it tears very neatly. :)

We'll have to have sharing time when our pieces are done! I would take progress shots, but they wouldn't be that interesting at the moment. I'm going to do some colored pencil drawings and cut those out for the foreground on each of my collages.
