My god you people are chatty

It took me over an hour to catch up on everyone's posts from this weekend. Sheesh.

We had a rather eventful weekend--the details of which I'm letting [livejournal.com profile] 0verdrive use for his entry today.

I found some wonderful fabrics for my petticoat, chemise, and bloomers at the JoAnn's in KC. I had to go to the one on Shawnee Mission, though. The Metcalf one (as always) sucked. I haven't found anything there in ages. The new store on Shawnee Mission Pkwy, though, is really nice. It's still all shiny and clean and I like the layout.

I can't believe it's August. What the hell happened to my summer?

Based on the weather today, I'd say summer is still in full swing.

Yeah, it seems that way. But I start steeling myself for winter on the summer solstice. ;)

Sarah's is crazy expensive. I've had very good luck at the local Hancock's. The manager there is a doll and gets in some of the best novelty cottons ever. But right now I'm broke and had two 40% off coupons at JoAnn's. So I went over to the dark side.

I made bloomers this weekend for breathof gold and I...we shopped at JOAnnes at 119th and had a difficult time deciding on stuff cause of the selection! Gasp!

I'll check out the one on ShawneeMissionParkway though, thanks for the tip. whereabouts on Shawnee Mission PWY?

And there's still a lot of summer to enjoy...

Can't wait to meet you!
Angel

Ummmm....It's near the Thai 2000 restaurant. Just like a block down from there, same side of the street. I don't know the address, sorry!

If you don't mind my asking, what kind of material did you settle on for your bloomers and chemise? If you have a lot of experience making them, which materials tend to hold up the best?

I hope you don't mind me eavesdropping on your LJ. I really have no idea who you are, but I'm looking forward to meeting you either at brothel night or out at faire!

Cheers,
Natalia

Not at all! I'm following all the other girls' LJs, too! =)

I went with cotton for both bloomers and chemise. I know linen would be cooler, but I just couldn't find any linen in colors or patterns that screamed WHORE, ya know? I eventually went with a turmeric colored Egyptian cotton (soooo soft!) for the chemise and dusty red paisley quilter's cotton for the bloomers. Paisley is the only rolled print allowed us for bloomers and, since I am a huge paisley lover, I took advantage of that. I don't have a lot of experience with this sort of costume, but I know natural fibers are always best. Cotton and linen being the usual choices.

I look forward to meeting you as well!

I searched and searched the Hancock on Metcalf for decent linen for [livejournal.com profile] salacious_saffy's bloomers and came up with nothing. I'm sticking with cotton's now.

I'm in uber-costuming mode and I love it! I can't wait to see us all together this year.

Yay, whores!
