Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more

Today's Tumblr collection is Tuesday, August 12: Badass Women.

Last night, about 5:30pm, I started getting weird cramps. Like menstrual cramps, but surely not. My last cycle started Sunday of last week (August 3) and I was done bleeding on Friday (the 8th). So even breatkthrough spotting would've been unusual at this stage in my cycle. Then, around 6:30, the cramps started to get really bad. Like I-would-not-be-able-to-make-it-to-the-office bad. Short-quick-breaths and just-try-to-relax bad. And then I started bleeding.



At least I had blood drawn yesterday, so we can see exactly where my hormone levels were when this happened.

I had a realization last night/this morning, too. I've been sleeping well--really well--since I returned from San Diego, and even in the week leading up to the trip. The one thing I changed in my program? I haven't been exercising. Like, hardly at all. So I think I'm gonna cut out the heavy lifting for a while again. Go back to walks and yoga.

It's hard for me to get interested in walks and yoga so I tend to not do them at all. I gotta ditch this all-or-nothing mentality when it comes to movement. If it's too late and my body simply can't handle weightlifting ever again, well...am I going to completely give up on maintaining any level of fitness? That's not a rhetorical question. It's something I seriously need to consider. How do I find a way to enjoy, how do I find ways to want to do low-level exercise like I want to throw heavy weights around? That's the question for right now.

Good luck figuring out next steps, and I hope the blood draw results are illuminating. I'd love to be more helpful, but that's all I've got that I think is worth saying.

Yeah, I don't think there's much that anyone can offer right now. Including my current medical practitioners. sigh I'm thinking about trying someone new. I've heard good things about this one guy in Overland Park...

Ha! Seriously, though, I would be more inclined to do yoga and walks with his company. Our schedules don't mesh well like that, though. He's not a morning exercise person.

I would go for walks with you. I'm not as much of a morning person, but since I have that rotating schedule, we could see what we could do on my days off. Also, I go back to night shift in a month, and would happily go for walks after I get off work at 6am.

This morning the only thing that got me on the track was the knowledge that I could listen to Rob Zombie REALLY LOUD for half an hour. =D

But if you want to join me in an act of solidarity and walk around the track with me each with our earbuds in, I would totally be up for that! Of course, once it gets chilly, I'm not gonna be up for morning walks...

I'm limited to walking, and I'm also not supposed to be lifting over 20 pounds ... but I'm also supposed to be doing more walking, so I would love to join you. :)

Yay! Thank you for letting me know you liked it. I really do appreciate people telling me they liked a particular collection. Keeps me doing it!

Okay, so let's do this walking thing! I don't know that I want to try two days in a row right away (tomorrow I'll do some yoga) so perhaps meet Friday morning? 6am ish?
