I am relieved that it's Friday.

I am confused why nail polish doesn't last even 24 hours without chipping when for years my manicures lasted nearly a week.

I am sad that a cigarette I tried to smoke on Wednesday made me sick after two drags.

I am hungry, but this is the first time my stomach hasn't hurt in nearly two days.

I am loathe to irritate it.

I am thinking the stomach upset was caused by the two glasses of wine I had on Wednesday.

I am more sad about that than I am the cigarette.

I am going to sign up for a Tai Chi class.

I am looking forward to an evening of solitude tonight.

I am tired.

What I especially don't understand is some of these are polishes I've used for years...so either my nails are changing, or Seche Vite (my topcoat) has changed its formula. Hmph.

I'm wondering if it's that topcoat as well, because I didn't have a UV topcoat last time, and usually I get that done. I might buy one of those little UV lights and topcoat. I did some research on it last month and found some mentioned on MakeUp Alley that looked promising. I also read that really clever nail techs put regular base and polish on first and *then* use a clearcoat of that shellac. It lasts like the shellac but doesn't rip off the nail surface when it's removed. The secret, they say, is to wait til the next day so the polish gets to dry all the way through.
