Accentuate the Not Entirely Dismal, day 5
IT'S FRIDAY.
Yesterday I touched up my roots, which means I had to wash and blow-dry my hair in the morning because trying to color my hair when it's curly? No. With the humidity, though, it frizzed out since of course I keep no products for straight hair. I didn't want it to get annoying (ugh, flyaway hair such a nuisance), so I wrapped it up in a bun at the nape of my neck. Someone mentioned to me that my hair looked good like that in a way that implied my hair looks less than good when it's wild and wavy and messy (i.e. the way I prefer it).
When I got done coloring last night (at 10pm because the process takes six hours you guys), I was chilled and didn't want to go to bed with wet hair, so I dried it again (uuuuuugh) and this morning wrapped it up in a bun because humidity still. And a different person stopped by my office and actually said aloud to me "Your hair looks much better like that than down."
So basically, I can't fucking wait for Monday when I can return to work with my god damned curls fluffed out as far as I can get them. Because fuck those people.
One thing about it being (sort of) straight, though? It's nearly down to my waist, now. o_O
Something good happened at work yesterday, too. My boss (who is only my boss for another eight months--SOB!) said she loved my necklace and I jokingly asked her if she wanted to buy it. It was a necklace I'd made over the weekend from some of those beads I'm working through. She took me up on it and now I'm down one multi-strand necklace, but up fifty bucks. Nice!
And finally, for the final time: During the next five days, post three positive things about your day and ask three people to do the same so the positive attitude can gain some ground.
1. It's Friday.
2. I put up the pattern purge post and people are responding.
3. I'm wearing my favorite boots earlier in the season than I thought I would, courtesy of our unusually cool temperatures.

And I'm sort of boggling that it takes 6 hours to color your hair! I've really only ever done highlights (and those are relatively easy to touch up even with long hair), but the longest it's ever taken was 3 hours (including a haircut and a blowout). Are individual hairs being painted, or is it a multi-step process?

Ha ha ha ha ha! Sometimes it feels like it!
I'm allergic to hair dye, so I have to do this fairly simple but ridiculously time consuming two-step process with henna and indigo to dye my hair black. Vanity, man. I tell ya.

I get comments like your hair comments when I wear make up. I choose to believe it is just because I look different and they actually notice.

I get comments on my makeup, too, but they're never "you look good" or general things, they're usually "how did you get that shading" or "I love what you did with those colors," so they're less offensive to me. If someone told me I looked better with makeup I think I would offer them Choice Words.
