Poem found on Tumblr

“What To Do When Your Boyfriend’s Asshole Best Friend Says, “Hey, Never Trust Anything That Bleeds For Seven Days And Doesn’t Die, Right?” OR The Only Poem I’ll Ever Write About Periods.

Don’t excuse him because he’s had
at least three lite beers
and is sweating through his black button down
that his mom or exgirlfriend
probably bought him.
Don’t excuse him because he’s been turned down
by the last six girls he went on dates with
after meeting them on tindr
with a picture that’s seven years old
Don’t excuse him because
he’s usually such a nice guy
because you don’t want to be a bitch
because you don’t want to cause a scene
because when you were seventeen
your sister told you
no one likes an angry feminist

Tell him,
Hey, Asshole:
Let me explain something to you.
Every goddamn motherfucking month since I was eleven,
a part of me
tore itself to shreds
ripped itself apart inside me
and then remade itself.

So yes, I bleed for seven days
and I don’t die
You know what else can do that?
Gods.
Immortal beings.
Things of legend.
Fuck, I can even
create life.

So I say, never trust anything that can’t
bleed for seven days and not die.
You know what that makes it?
Weak
Fallible
Mortal.
So let’s see, hon,
What you’re made of.
If you can bleed for seven days
and not die.

Rip out his jugular with your teeth.
And when he bleeds for seven seconds
and dies,
spit on his corpse and say,
I thought not.

Another Andy Rooney post

Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] gamera_spinning!

Best News Evah (at least for today): "After a nice break from the action, sellout is bringing the party back to the jazzhaus this Friday and Saturday, October 22 & 23. As many of you know, Sunnye has moved to Florida. However, she is coming back to celebrate her birthday with sellout and she's bringing her sax with her."

'Scuse me while I do a little dance here at my desk. Yow! I'm definitely going to the Friday night show. Saturday I'll be at a costume party unless I decide to be a totally worthless shithead of a friend and skip out of the party early. Heh...heh? Um, guys? Oh dear. I'm still uncertain of costume for the party. I need to see if I can squeeze into my Catholic Schoolgirl outfit again. I didn't have time to pull together the Aeryn Sun one, dammit.

This test told me:
Your score as a human being is 98.65.
You are a pleasure to be with and a pleasure to be. Your friends do not envy so much as admire you, and you lead your life with grace, honor, and dignity. This site is humbled to have you take a test on it. Which brings one to wonder, what are you doing goofing off on the Internet?

Now some bad news: I'm having to postpone my move date. [livejournal.com profile] roya_spirit and I agree that her place isn't near to being ready for me to move in. I'm hoping for next weekend, but I don't know how many people will be available, it being a weekend for parties and such. Please let me know if you'd be available next weekend to help me move. Thanks and apologies.

Last week I crossed a mile marker in my life. I made a decision that I thought I would never, ever, make. It was a big one. Those of you who know me well will understand exactly how momentous this was and it should give some indication of the drastic new direction my life is going. Last Friday. I ordered. A cell phone. Whoa! Yes, you read that correctly. Basically, I got an offer I couldn't refuse from Working Assets and (most importantly) I get to keep my current phone number. So. I have 30 days with a temporary number to decide if I like the service, and then my old (current) phone number will be transferred to the new phone. If you want to know my temporary number, please email me instead of commenting. I'll send out the number as soon as I have it.

I was packing up my sewing room last night (six boxes of crap and counting) when I stumbled across a notebook of quotes, dreams (two of them!), and other miscellaneous stuff from several years ago. Included in the notebook were several examples of my magnetic poetry creations. Say what you like about the concept, it's the only way I've ever written what I consider to be decent (if a little trite) poetry. I'm not sure what that says about my mental processes/personality, but there you have it. I thought it was particularly approprite considering yesterday's poetry meme that I submit to you some of my very own poetry. No snickering, please. Clicky clicky to see my soul laid bare )
