I have a date

December 10. Exactly one month. I have so much to do.

Massive amounts of food prep (two or three weeks of food prep at least) because takeout is not an option and I don't trust anyone else to cook for me, including [livejournal.com profile] mckitterick. Sorry, bb, it's not you, it's me. Literally, it's me.

due South Sekrit Santa art piece. I have the base images picked and printed, so that's, like, 2% of the work done.

File FMLA paperwork and make arrangements for doing some work from home. Already started this, at least. Sent the requested forms to the hospital as soon as I hung up the phone with the scheduling nurse.

Physical therapy exercises and walking every damn day. Every Day. I'm gonna be on my ass for two weeks at least. I need to start that at a higher physical level than I am now.

I have one sewing commission that shouldn't take too long and I'd really like to do it for her, but that's taking lowest priority.

That seems like such a short list, and in a long-ago time I could probably have wrapped all that up in a long weekend. Maybe the hysterectomy is the jump-start my body needs to get back to those energy levels.

I am hopeful for you that getting rid of your parasite is going to make such a difference.
Of course, if there's ANYTHING I can do, you know.. :)

[identity profile] 1-rhiannon-1.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 03:58 pm (UTC)(link)
I really hope that this is the jump start that your body needs! Good luck with everything and shout if there's anything I can do for you. I know that that's not likely, but do let me know!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Will do. Too bad you can't send me coupons for sex toys. =D

[identity profile] 1-rhiannon-1.livejournal.com 2015-11-12 02:11 pm (UTC)(link)
Girl, if I could I absolutely would! I can give you the recommendation to never order ANYTHING from Adam & Eve. They have a 90-day no questions asked return policy and that just grosses me out. *shudders*

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-11-12 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Yikes. One hopes they just throw them away, but...

[identity profile] 1-rhiannon-1.livejournal.com 2015-11-12 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
I would hope so but since it's a money-back guarantee, I'm going to doubt it. Probably clean, refurb, and resell. Ugh ugh ugh.

[identity profile] 1-rhiannon-1.livejournal.com 2015-11-12 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
My sentiments exactly!

[identity profile] 1-rhiannon-1.livejournal.com 2015-11-12 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
My sentiments. This is why I only buy from us. I KNOW that we don't take toys back. On the very rare occasion that we have to, I toss that shit in the trash with a quickness.

[identity profile] write-out.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 04:07 pm (UTC)(link)
You've got a date and a plan! You've got this thing! I know it's not what you expected or wanted, but I hope this is the start of many positive changes for you and your body.

HUGS!!!!

Will you be able to play Monument Valley?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
I...have no idea? I'm not really much of a game-player. It looks interesting, though! Alas, I don't think I own a device it would work on. For as much as I love the internet, I'm shockingly low/non-tech.

[identity profile] stuology.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 07:04 pm (UTC)(link)
It will work on your phone! :)

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 07:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, thanks! I might look into it when I can't handle any more passive entertainment!

Excellent! Deadlines can be motivating. Anything we can do?

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
PRAY FOR ME =D

[identity profile] stuology.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 06:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Massive amounts of food prep .. I don't trust anyone else to cook for me

I know how to cut food with a knife, mostly, which can lessen the amount of prep in your food prep.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I might take you up on that! What's your next weekend w/o the kids?

[identity profile] stuology.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Saturday, Nov. 21 is a free day for me. I can keep it open.
Dec 4 - 5 is the next free weekend I have.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 07:15 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd like to get at least a few bags of food in the freezer before Thanksgiving, so maybe the 21st? I'll email and we can work out details.

Having someone (I trust) chop while I do everything else is going to be MAGICAL. Wow. WOW.

[identity profile] kazoogrrl.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 06:22 pm (UTC)(link)

Appendeges crossed this will be the beginning of the end of all those nagging issues.

[identity profile] athenaartemis.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Not sure how much experience you have with surgeries, but as someone who has had A Lot recently (including in the uterus area, though that was laparoscopic), a piece of advice. You're probably not going to want to lie flat for a while, especially with what area you'll be having surgery on. Recliners are great, but if they aren't electronic, actually using them can be difficult right after surgery. I have a husband pillow (those firm pillows with arms) that has been super useful to me after surgery. I put it on the end of the couch, and that way I can recline with my feet up on the couch, but with actual back support (which the couch arm would not provide). My husband pillow was about $40 at BB&B, and it's really good quality.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
This is FANTASTIC advice! Thank you, bb!

[identity profile] saffronhare.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)

You might also look at some sort of nursing pillow, of all things. I used my Boppy long after weaning the girls because it was hella useful as a lap desk that kept pressure off abdominal surgical sites.

[identity profile] athenaartemis.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 08:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely all the pillows. Thank god the cons I've done since the mastectomy have been at Westins. I call ahead and am just like "I need every extra pillow you have. All of them."

[identity profile] splix.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 08:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Thinking good thoughts for you! <3

[identity profile] http://users.livejournal.com/_luaineach/ 2015-11-11 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, yes! I was coming to recommend a husband pillow myself. When I had my appendix big to do and had to lie around, that thing made all the difference. My friend helen had advised me to get one. She also gave me another piece of advice wrt the pillow that proved accurate: when you are sick to death of it, you'll know you're fine to get up!

All my good thoughts for you as prep for this!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

[identity profile] seascribe.livejournal.com 2015-11-11 11:53 pm (UTC)(link)
*sends energetic vibes* Glad you're sorted with a date, and on the way to having your ducks in a row. I hope prep goes smoothly!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-11-12 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
The prep is honestly sounding worse than the surgery right now.

[identity profile] the-themiscyran.livejournal.com 2015-11-12 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
I will be thinking many good thoughts for you! May your surgery give you all the positive results you are hoping for!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-11-12 02:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you!

[identity profile] msmitti.livejournal.com 2015-11-12 12:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm glad you had a date set so you can actually plan (and time) what needs to get done. I'm really glad that you have FMLA for healing. How long will you be out?

Sending good energy your way.

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-11-12 02:53 pm (UTC)(link)
They say up to six weeks? eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

[identity profile] msmitti.livejournal.com 2015-11-12 06:25 pm (UTC)(link)
Yowza! Here's hoping you continue to find things to entertain you during your healing.

[identity profile] gentlespirit.livejournal.com 2015-11-12 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
Yay, for a date!

And figuring out what you need to do and prioritizing. I'm sure this is really hard to think about the differences between how hard things are now and how they could have been, but you are doing so much and being so careful to do what you need to do, I just want to cheerlead you learning what does and doesn't work for you at this current moment!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-11-12 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Thank you, bb!

[identity profile] aprilstarchild.livejournal.com 2015-11-15 08:46 am (UTC)(link)
Yay for having a date! (I know it's changed, but still: date!)

Fingers crossed that you get everything done!

[identity profile] clevermanka.livejournal.com 2015-11-15 06:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I resigned from two things, so now my only obligations are prep as much food as possible and finish my piece for the dSSS exchange.

[identity profile] zitronenhai.livejournal.com 2015-12-08 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
I really hope this works out for you! Holy shit I need to do a better job keeping up with LJ, or at least just yours.
