I woke up this morning a bit past 5am thanks to a nice little thunderstorm. It really was/is a nice little thunderstorm. Not too loud, not too aggressive. Just some general light-up-the-sky rumble business with no loud cracks of thunder. Still enough to wake me up, but I felt honestly rested, so that was nice!

Oh, hey, my laptop monitor is starting to fritz out. When I move the lid, it completely buzzes out--like static on an old television--and when I'm looking at a dark area on the screen, I can see the bitty little dots flickering. HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA.



Also I can mention here that mckitterick removed the power supply from my media computer to get analyzed before he bought a new one (the media computer died a couple weeks ago, did I mention?). The guy at the parts store hooked it up to their analyzer and said "Huh. I've never seen anything like this before. It's just completely non-responsive."

YEP.

My phone has been useable for most of the week but I haven't used it because I'm terrified of it. I tried to send someone a text but it was so tedious and I absolutely despise the touch-screen keyboard. It's going to take some getting used to.

Oh, he bought a replacement after confirming the power supply was dead and it wasn't a problem with the computer itself. Thanks, though! It's already back up and running.

I hated swipe when I first got my smartphone but now i use swiping all the time.   Super fast but my eyes are prone to missing errors  (Like why does it ALWAYS make "probably" into "penalty"?!)  But even with checking words,  still fast.

I also use the microphone often.  I do a lot of stuff (emails,  posts,  etc) voice to text and have since I started using dragon way back when jet was born (so I could do emails,  quicken, etc while nursing! ).  However,  I don't find it as convenient for txt msg just because** I'm usually out somewhere when txting where's talking isn't appropriate.  But,  the typing technology is really accurate!

You and me both. Good news, though, I've yet to have a phone die on me. *knock wood* Only reason I've gotten rid of phones is they died or I lost them.

I love Swype, even when it doesn't catch my words, it's still faster than me trying to type them out onscreen. Get yourself a little capacitor pen as well for the colder days.

I usually swipe on my phone but I don't know if it's officially the Swype feature or something else... I seem to recall I don't have Swype turned on? I also love the voice-texting, especially since I can say the punctuation and it'll input! "period" "exclamation point" etc. My internet connection at work is rough for the voice texting, though.

Rin can't do either; his fingers aren't well-suited to swiping and his speech isn't enunciated enough for voice texting.

I'll let you know when the buttons arrive! After a day of practice, I'm getting better at swipe-typing. It's difficult since I don't think about where the keys are when I'm typing--it's all muscle memory. So asking one finger to go to one key or the next is quite a demand!

*headdesk* Technology just has some sort of a grudge against you. Either that or you have some sort of higher-than-most-people electrical something or other about you that just plays hell with technology.
