Bed

Everyone knows the phrase "pictures don't do it justice," and in the case of my bed, that's accurate. You need to see it in person (and maybe lie down in it because my mattress is amazing, y'all) to get the full experience. But here's some photos of my favorite piece of furniture:

Not the prettiest sheets in the world (those would be the ones I had to retire last month when I wore a hole through the fabric), but these are the bamboo rayon sheets I was talking about and they are so soft they don't seem real. With my brown summer blanket, my bed reminds me of mint chocolate chip ice cream.


Here's a pic from the head board. You can sort of see the dresser and candles.


Even though I had only candles and fairy lights lit for these pics the flash on my phone is pretty impressive and wiped out a lot of the mood of my bed. So here's a non-flash pic that I took standing at the head of the bed looking down. You can also see the hanging lanterns better.


I LOVE MY BED.

If you ever find yourself (poor thing) as a tourist in Kansas (my utter sympathies), you're welcome to have a lie-down in it!

omg, it's gorgeous! But I am just imagining the destruction that my cats would do, swinging from the hangings and bringing down the lanterns. I keep a really old blanket on top of my bed because they tunnel under it and it gets clawed and barfed on occasionally, and the dog sometimes tries to make a nest in it.

My kitty was good at not destroying things in general. Good kitty. She was also shockingly talented at jumping through the narrow curtain openings at night to join me in the bed (or leave). She never got tangled in a curtain even once! She did barf on the bed a few times, though. OH CATS.

Mmmmm..it's even more delicious than the last time I saw it!
I'm envious of the draperies, I just know that M'sr ClumsyButt would have mine dragged down in the first night, so mine are only on the headboard.
So lovely! I do want to compare mattresses, and thank you for the heads up on the sheets. The last ones I bought promised to get softy soft (Egyptian cotton) but after 6 washes, they still aren't fancy hotel quality.
