So much going on this weekend. I am quite relieved a friend's band canceled their gig tonight. I'd have had three events in three days and just no thank you.
Remember how I mentioned how much King George's song(s) reminded me of King Herod's Song in JC Superstar?
athenaartemis sent me a clip from Hamilton's casting call in an email:
Seeking: Male, ages 30-49, Caucasian
King George: the King of England, entitled, pouty nihilist. Sees the American Colonies as a deluded former lover, who will come crawling back. Rufus Wainwright meets King Herod in JCS; British accent, tenor.
Aw yeah.

Our Hamilton tickets arrived in the mail yesterday, btw. If you've got nothing going on today, check out the #ParksandHam tag on Twitter.
For the first time in a long time I am not doing anything Halloween-ish for Halloween. There's just too much going on for me right now, mentally, emotionally, and physically and I am just so glad I'm not dressing up or hosting a party. I suppose I could be depressed about that, but honestly I'm just relieved.
Are you doing anything for Halloween?

And I suppose I should buy candy today just in case kids come to my door. I have no idea about the traffic here, but I do know that the neighborhood is full of kids.

but after spending last year in Taiwan, I'm just excited to be in a place where people decorate their houses and there is candy in the stores and spooky stories on the radio.

I'm wearing my Paramore t-shirt with the sugar skull on it for our taco feed today.
Let the veil thin...

I'm taking Drake trick-or-treating for his last (?) time. In theory. I thought last year was his last year, but it appears that 9th grade is about when it ends around here. Not that I'll stop him if he wants to go next year. :)

I'm also relieved to not be working on a costume. How did that happen to me?
Instead, I went to Kohl's and found a great simple stretchy skirt to wear with my sweater/leggins combo for work, and a super soft sweater. They have some great stuff on sale for layering, I may be scouting them out at the end of season for the clearance on those kind of skirts/wraps/tops.

I went shopping with a couple of women a few weeks ago who had a radically different style.. mooch around for an hour in the same area, move to another, go back and mooch around the previous area, trying to make up their minds. It drove me nuts! :)

We thought we had a party to go to, but it turns out the party was last weekend, haha. THANK GOODNESS, f'real. I really just want to lie low in slippers and pajamas and watch something spooky on TV, instead.

Halloween is Justin's birthday. Today I took a much needed mental health day off work and treated him to breakfast, then we went out to a fancy dinner. Tomorrow we are hanging out with friends and their kids, it's also one of our friend's birthday's, and her kid looooooves Justin. I'm taking along our copy of " What We Do In The Shadows" for the adult hang out portion. Low key thank goodness.

I did also carve a pumpkin. Having a jack-o-lantern is pretty much the one tradition I can't skip.

My dead makeup was better at the beginning of the night. At that point, I just looked like I do every morning that I have to get up at 5am.
