stuology pointed out that today is the 21st. Fall Equinox. The end of summer. Summer is my favorite time of year. I revel in the warmth and the sun and the rush that comes from being way too busy with too many activities. I love summer. But this summer sucked. It was, hands down, my worst summer ever. I'm glad it's over. I'm happy to be moving on, finally. I never thought I'd say I was ready for autumn, but I'm definitely ready for a change. The fact that the change is also seasonal seems fitting.
It's been a long time since I generated any of these (mine usually suck), but I got a couple funny ones this time.

I imagine my feelings will be much the same tomorrow as well.

With a cooler, wet summer, hopefully autumn will at least be a colorful change. I love driving around on a cool day when all the leaves are changing colors.

I prefer spring, simply and only because it means winter is finally over. And fewer bugs.
I have to give romantic beauty to autumn though, we all look lovely under falling leaves, when the air becomes crisp and snuggling seems like a good idea again.

Summer used to be my favorite season, but that was when my life afforded me the luxury of more recreational activities. I get no more in the summer now than in the winter. Now it is just kind of sweaty.

Perhaps I'm a freak, but I like fall and winter. And it's so much less intense here than, say, in Minnesota where I spent much of my youth. The only thing I don't like about winter is that the days are shorter; the plus side of that is that we mammals tend to snuggle in our little caves with those we love, and that's a nice feeling.
Spring is the worst for me: winter's dark finally hits me, everything is muddy and wet, and it's not yet summer. Not that I love boiling to death in those heavy humidy days of summer, but this year it was pretty sweet!
"April is the cruelest month, breeding lilacs out of the dead land, mixing memory and desire, stirring dull roots with spring rain." and "Thanne longen folk to goon on pilgrimages."

That is the only benefit to winter besides StuDay and the Holidays. I've found winter more tolerable since I've had a garage, and I have to drive to work and park in a garage that is attached to the building I work in, and I have heat in my house. When I had to get up early every morning and scrape the windshield or wait for a bus and then still had to walk a ways to get where I needed to be, call me spoiled, but ugh! Or, when I was a kid and didn't have any heat, I was fine sleeping underneath a big pile of blankets, but eventually, I did have to get up. I grew to really hate winter.

That's the spirit!
And the dry skin, yeah, I have dry skin in summer. December - February are brutal for my skin! Itchy, Itchy!

If they'd have let the river run it's natural course it would be running through Columbia now and would have eventually gotten to Lawrence...what price glory? The 93 floods.

Here's to a new season and new life.
Just in time to sequester into the depths of finding yourself again.
