Ok, well that's over...not
My god, what a weekend. I was almost glad to come back to work today except I was so damn tired I nearly couldn't get out of bed.
Saturday morning was productive, with the new version of the overblouse looking tres sharp. I changed the shoulder shape, flared the blouse from the waist down to use all of the 45" width of the fabric, and used the sleeves from the Folkwear Turkish Dancer pattern. It looks like the final blouse for the Aladdin gig will be out of the cheap fabric since I'm not going to have time to make a second one. But it'll look ok.
Saturday afternoon was more mad sewing. Finished up the vest, started and finished a hip sash, and taught one of the girls in the intermediate dance class to sew. Well, we made a pair of harem pants. A good start. We started with a couple yards of fabric and she went home with a pair of pants in less than two hours. For someone who never sat in front of a sewing machine before, that's pretty good.
Later in the afternoon mckitterick and I were good little English persons and went to the SAGE picnic. It was really very warm. But I got to ride on the giant motorcycle. And I got lots of compliments on my parasol. That was fun.
Saturday evening until the wee hours of Sunday was spent chatting with D's sister, her husband, and another couple. I did remember to go out and look at Mars, since that's probably the only time I'll be up that late.
Sunday got up and went to the gym with radcliffe. Got home and tidied up the mess in the sewing room. Made a valiant effort to drive to KC to pick up the serger, but failed. Took a nap instead. Got up, did some housecleaning and grocery shopping. Went to D's folks for Sunday dinner. Got sucked into being the audience for a very long volleyball game. I have six mosquito bites and they itch like hell.
I took some diphenhydramine so I could sleep through the itchiness and am still a little groggy. Yes, I just *had* to include the link to the diphenhydramine site. I think it's too funny that there's actually a website for that.
So that was my marathon weekend. This week isn't looking any more relaxing. I am booked every evening until Saturday. I'm beginning to feel like LJ friend slackmistress. Whew!
