Friday Update

Twitter: (I haven't been on Twitter much the past few days)
hands hand hands I love hands

I'll be including this in next week's dump, but this twitter thread is... oof. "If you live with chronic illness, do you remember the first time you considered that you might not get better?" For me, the day of my diagnosis (and every god damned day thereafter). This line, in particular: when I stopped imagining this future better time, I made decisions about the present really differently. Yes.

I really need to get my Essay Writing Brain back so I can write my own experiences about this stuff.

Things are hard and weird right now. [personal profile] mckitterick is working through shit. He says my input is helpful, although my method of therapy is more along the lines of the Bob Newhart skit. We're learning to be friends again and it's nice. (ngl it would be so easy if I were still sexually attracted to him, but... *sigh*)

Caving to practicality, he bought an Actual Functioning Car yesterday (*knock wood*) so we'll have something to drive if/when the predicted nasty weather arrives. A used Nissan Juke. So, yes, another limited-production car but we both like unusual designs so I suppose that's to be expected. We both liked it when it first came out and we remark on them almost every time we see one. So now we have one, and as soon as the Crossfire comes back from the shop, he'll get rid of the Subaru and the Civic so we'll be back to Interesting Cars Only in our (metaphorical) garage.

Started feeling better yesterday, too, which was convenient since we drove twice to nearby town for the car--once to check it out and once to buy it. I'm a little worn down now, but I also just got back from a morning trip to the grocery store before the storm hits. Settling in now with some tea and good music and fic writing.
