A suspected instance of the Wuhan coronavirus has shown up in  my town, so that's exciting. I'm finally seeing stuff about the Wuhan coronavirus on Twitter, too. Bai Yu fans crowdfunded to buy supplies for hospital workers. Zhu Yilong and fans sent support as well. Here's a news article about the Zhu Yilong story. This video of quarantined people shouting encouragement to each other is heartwarming.

I LOVE Nie Huaisang, and I suspect that he’s one of those characters that I’m only going to grow to love more as I keep thinking about & rewatching & reading fic for this show. (In a somewhat embarrassing semi-drunken moment that I am nonetheless about to share publicly, I told sewingfrommagic/gingerfiend “Just bc nie huaisang is a bit of a fop and a dandy does not mean he could not top jiang cheng. he is a fop and a dandy who FUCKS”...and at that point I was only about halfway through the series, lmao, but I STAND BY that assessment, although dom!bottom!nhs would also be good, & god am I going to be embarrassed about this comment tomorrow when I’m less amped on caffeine.)

I was literally lying in bed this morning thinking about how much I love Nie Huaisang. And not even in That Way. I mentioned in a comment on someone's DW that I want to be his BFF or vodka aunt or even his beard. I just wanna hang out with him! He's so awesome and I am 100% with you on that comment. I started reading Four Days in Lanling because I just wanted to see how the author possibly pulled off the Nie Huaisang/Jiang Cheng ship and by the end of it I was fuckin' sold. So... yeah. With ya, bb.

He's so great! I really really like that Nie Huaisang is, genuinely, very soft, and wields that like a weapon as he pulls his strings. May we all be blessed with a Nie Huaisang who will loan us the best porn and buy us the best wine and cut our enemies' feet out from under them without their ever being the wiser :D

Aaaahhh, I've just read that one as well! I shipped those two almost from the moment they met in canon (WHY am I like this, stop shipping rarepairs mission!!), but I've been struggling to find fic that hits the dynamic the way I read it--Jiang Cheng's grumpiness can be fun, but I really enjoyed Four Days In Lanling's take on the character because it seems to me that it really gets at his *vulnerability*, his soft underbelly and fear of social missteps. Jiang Cheng is, wildly unexpectedly, my favorite character from the show, and I really love how the author seems to have the same read on him that I do.

I am uncertain that NHS is naturally soft so much as he is phenomenally under-equipped, physically, to be a "normal" Nie clan leader (I have many feelings about the Nie clan and I feel like maybe I should make a post about that). So he does, as you say, weaponize the softness he projects. He's the ultimate Slytherin and god I adore him.

I love that Jiang Cheng is your favorite! He deserves more happiness (and a real good dicking down by our NHS).
