Why is this method of tying people up so prevalent in Chinese media and why hasn't the rest of the world followed suit?
You're pretty when you cry.

Tips on making Chinese food.

I don't feel guilty about not being the friend I used to be, but I dislike it a lot. This thread and the responses resonate hard.

Energy levels since the weekend are the lowest they've been since I got laid off back in May, but this happened to me for the first time ever and the high from it's gonna get me through the next couple days not even joking. I hope I sufficiently blurred the username? Although seriously this person deserves some sort of award bc I didn't even want to get out of bed this morning before I checked my email.

Oh my gosh and I JUST NOW got the final version of the takkyb1 piece I commissioned for Ghost Story!

Fandom is literally giving me life today.

As for "why hasn't the rest of the world followed suit" there are a lot of places it has if you know where to look. I've been around plenty of this kind of tie-up play without even needing to go far from home.

Haha, I had wondered about that myself!

Look, in the west, we don't want to our kidnapping victims to be enjoying themselves!

...are we doing it wrong?

Oh that picture is so lovely, the sadness in Shen Wei's face, you can just see how much he wants to really be there. And I can't tell if Zhao Yunlan even has any idea of his presence, alone (but not) in the dark...

And yay to the uplifting power of kudos! \o/

I LOVE people who reply to a string of my stories in a row. Blessings upon your recent kudos-izer!

I really like the discussion of Chinese cooking. I didn't realize that Western people often put so many different ingredients in our stir-fries -- that does seem counterproductive to me. It would make more sense to do a couple of different dishes each centered around cooking a couple of ingredients to their best effect rather than cooking a large number to the same doneness that doesn't suit any of them.

Booo on your energy levels being this bad, but I'm glad fandom is managing to come to the rescue!

I know the feeling intimately. Not so severely now, thankfully, except in the "how to get through Monday", but I know. *hugs*
