On this day in 1992, more than half my life ago, I appeared in district court to finalize my legal name change. It was pouring rain and I didn't have an umbrella. I fell in the parking lot so I sat in the courtroom with soaking knees and wet hair. Mine was the first case called and I had no idea what to do, but my lawyer stood next to me, sweet and helpful. The court clerks must have liked me because they gave me five free extra copies of the court approval (they were supposed to cost $5 each). I still have two of them, folded and fading, in my file box of other papers that should probably be transferred to a safe.
I was born two weeks early on January 31, but I got my name on my due date. The charm of that has never faded for me. Happy February 14th, y'all, however you celebrate it.

With The Untamed, I waited through, what, 48? episodes just, you know, waiting for my baby boy to expire. But then. THEN! What that happened I literally YELLED and had to pause the show. All alone in my house I was pumping my fists and (literally) crying because MY BABY BOY and seriously it was one of the greatest moments in my life as a fangirl.
I just love him so much. So, so much.
Also, if you have NHS/JC fic recs along the lines of Four Days in Langling, that's the only type I'm into, but I'm very, VERY into it.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think the haircut is terrible? Not his best, but still fine. (Granted, it's had to think of anything that would look truly terrible on him, but personally I feel the styles that suit him least are the ones with very short hair, or all the hair up in a strict topknot. Everything that has no hair hanging down at all.)

I've thought about changing my name many times, but only recently settled on something I really love. It'll need to wait, though, until I clear the deck of some other things (like graduation, a job, moving, and a dog, in about that order).
Okay, that translation of NHS' fan is AMAZING. I love that boy so hard. I'm still deep in my Wangxian writing feels, but my backbrain is accumulating bits for all the secondary characters I want to write. I need to work out a fix-it that saves MXY while bringing WWX back, because if I ship NHS with anybody, it's MXY, weirdly. Even without that, though, I want to write NHS' twisty, Machiavellian little brain and his pwnage of the long con.

And thank you for making it a Ghost Story day! I am very excited to read it when I am awake and everything tomorrow - I covered the late shift at the library for one of my colleagues and it shifted my entire evening in weird ways but now it is weekend so I can SLEEP (whoo) and then wake up and READ (yayyyyy!!).
