Fatigue levels are high. Yesterday I felt good enough to finish two art cards and clear off one work surface of the studio. The other table will have to wait for an energy day. Then on my next energy day, I can haul out stuff to make masks. Yay. I was going to do my roots today (they're so bad they're becoming visible in my Insta selfies) but uh, nope. I don't think I can raise my arms over my head for more than a few seconds at a time today. Le Sigh.

I'm on my third day of Spanish with Duolingo, though! This morning I accidentally typed "Buenas días" instead of "Buenos días" and Duolingo helpfully walked me through a lesson reminding me that adjectives should match their nouns so when a noun ends in "a", so should the adjective. *looks at noun* No mention of irregular nouns? No mention of irregular nouns. Okay! Can't wait to see how it corrects me on the irregular verbs (oh god irregular verbs 😣).

Duolingo can be inadvertantly hilarious in some of its classes and amusingly vaguely threatening in its notifications. I've been enjoying it.

Gracias, I suppose? 😂 I was pretty good 25 years ago. I spent five days in Mexico and the only person I spoke English to was my dad, who was traveling with me. I even had fairly complex conversations and got complimented on my accent. *preen*

It's annoying (but expected) that I breeze through the program exercises, but when it comes to actually speaking original sentences, my brain just goes uh, errrrrrrrr ¿...Cómo?

I gave in and colored my hair Tuesday because I was sparkling like snow on a mountain in my last live staff meeting. And while I don’t give much of a fuck about white hair as a rule, I do like the look of auburn, and I was finally energized to do it. You have to seize that opportunity when you can, or else it could be Brigadoon time before anything gets done.

LOLing at "Brigadoon time" bc seriously. I started to notice the gray/white in photographs when I was 39 I was like NOPE NOT READY FOR THAT. I've decided when I'm done coloring, I'm gonna just shave all of it off. But since it's about down to my waist now that's, uh... not gonna happen anytime soon. Hopefully I'll have the stamina to color tomorrow.

How are you liking Duolingo? A friend of mine says it's not good for moderate-level learners because it likes to start you from zero; but that if I wanted to learn, say, Norwegian, it would totally do the trick.

I wouldn't call myself a moderate-level. I'd say I'm at that "couple years of high school Spanish where you didn't really pay attention and now you gotta take it again to graduate college" level. I am intimately familiar with that level.

It does have placement tests if you want to test out of the early early stuff (I did). So maybe the person didn't realize that?
