Thank you to everyone who chimed in on my writing question yesterday. I'm going the AU!China route where love is love and we all live in a better world. Now to find a name for this OC guy who has, like, two lines of dialogue.

Today is 4/20 during the month of 4/20 and every dope smoker with a 14-year-old's sense of humor is annoyed as fuck because it's not as funny as it was supposed to be. WE WERE LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS GOD DAMN IT.

California was slated to release people on weed-only charges but that was like, a year ago that was announced? and I haven't heard a thing about it. Hmmmmmm. A quick search for news about didn't turn up anything either.

I still can't get over that's what the production crew chose for their first filmed scene together and that they pulled it off so flawlessly in the context of the rest of the show. Speaks volumes that they had such a good grasp of the characters right out the gate.

Helpppp I can't stop watching the BTS, save meee. And yeahh that was totally not by accident. Nor is Bai Yu saying "Yes you're in the wrong" perfectly deadpan and whapping his script agressively until ZYL meekly agrees he was in the wrong (about a line? I have no clue), then immediately breaking into a big grin - BOYS.

OH you're so right! And yeah, really, that fits. They pretty much carried that dynamic through to their roles, too ("I'm going to Dixing!" "You can't go to Dixing." "Ha, you just said I can therefore I will!")

I handed out lunches yesterday for the school district with some other parents, school district personnel and two kids from Lawrence High School. One of the parents mentioned it was 4/20 and it became a group-sanctioned goal to hand out 420 meals on 4/20 of 4/20. We celebrated it when we hit that number on the mark. It won't end up on the School District's social media, but it happened!

It makes me want to have hope that Kansas will legalize it given how chill everybody was about it at a school district sanctioned thing, but in reality, I know Lawrence is a special bubble with not much sway over the rest of this state.

I am not a giant fan of the soulmate trope, tbh, and the title of that is making me very nervous--eeeek. What were your thoughts on it (keeping in mind I haven't watched a single Thai BL).

No, don't watch this one to start. It has an icky reincarnation angle. Although there is a lot of food, so that's good? I ship a secondary pairing, but the show isn't worth watching just for that.

For Thai BL, start with LOVE BY CHANCE. The touchstone show that started the genre is LOVE SICK, but that is too unwieldy to recommend. You might also like TOGETHER WITH ME, which has the benefit of starting with something ... racy. Fans also adore THARNTYPE, which I had to watch twice to end up liking.

I have watched that bts several times throughout the week, and i agree. There is no reason for him to think it was in the script. He said it while he was still looking for the line of dialogue, which makes me think he just found it funny. He does say "Bu hao yisi" immediately, too, apologizing for his joke.
