I made it to Costco yesterday! It wore me out for the rest of the day but it felt good. I went during the early morning Olds and Invalids Hour and it was fine. I got some looks (even with a mask and an inch of grown-out roots I look younger than 50 and the cut-off age for 9am entry is 60) and it's very difficult sometimes to keep a distance of 6 to 10 feet with old people (they stop to read labels right in front of the item I want to grab and when they do move, they don't move fast). It was tons less stressful than the previous visit with the MAGA dipshits, though. And it was really nice to be out of the house alone.

While I was there, I impulse-purchased a bag of gluten- and nut-free flour that is (supposedly) a cup-for-cup substitute for regular flour. We'll see. I'm gonna try making this souffle pancake with it because I'm pretty sure almond flour would not work as a substitute in that. I also bought some brown rice ramen (just a bag of noodle bricks) and a package of add-hot-water Pho bowls that were way too expensive but adorable and on sale, so I splurged. They'll be a good option for when I Just Don't Want To Eat Anything.

And finally, if I may offer a word of advice: If you don't hear from someone a couple days after you email them something fairly important that you want them to look at, maybe don't wait three weeks to confirm they got it. I failed to heed the little voice in my head saying "just email to check!" and now Deconstruction's publication miiiiiiiiiight be a little delayed. 😂 If tech problems are happening/going to happen, they will happen to me, but 2020 sure is a year, beloveds.

It's this one (I didn't have to buy six bags of it in the store). Looks like: Sweet brown rice flour, Brown rice flour, Tapioca starch, Arrowroot powder, Sorghum flour, and Xanthan gum.

Glad to hear the Costco venture went well; keep us posted on the mysterious flour. It looks like souffle pancakes are what you get if you order pancakes in any Japanese café; I have no idea how they get them that vertical, but you apparently do or will!
Also thanks for allowing me to start my day with a sunny cheerful Zhu Yilong interview. (But, as you were discussing above, too thin :( . In terms of our AU, he's trying to have that long lanky pitcher's build when he's supposed to be a solidly built catcher...)
